Ask the citizens oi Spalding county to whom they ar indebted for the ma. y Western and Northen settlers among them and they will tell you . Can it be possible that a minis ter of the Gospel has to stoop to arouse the prejudices of the Sout! - ern people against a Northern man just because this man is opposed to his candidacy for the governor ship and advocates the claims of his opponent? Do the people of Georgia propose to put such a man in charge of the affairs of the state? This is an age of progress, and if Georgia proposes to keep her position as Empire State of the South, let her be sure to pul a live, progressive man at the helm Conserva'isui.
