Col. John C. Foster, of Foster's Mills, is in the city today. Misses Laura Moore and Etta Richards are guests of Mrs Foster and are enjoying a most pleasant vacation. Her father’s family are much worried over her condi tion, though the last report was to the effect that she was slightly convalescent. Moore, the best sheriff in Georgia, would accept the office of Chief Deputy Marshal for tn a State of Georgia and move to Atlanta. The Hustler of Rome failed to find the popular Sheriff in time to verify the report, but line eleven tenths of the people of Floyd county we rejoice over the possi bility of Sheriff Moore’s remain ing a citizen of the Banner coun ty. For several weeks Mr. Moore has be«n “sick enough to go to bejd” but by “main strength and awkwardness” as it were, has re mained at his post of duty and with the able assistants of Depu ties Turner and McConnell, he has helped most materially in facilita ting the business of the Superior court. Many white people knew him, loved him, Jived out their days and died leaving him, here to continue his fight When the summons came for him to join the majority, it found him ripe into the harvest.
