He was at home ouly a few months when on his crutches be returned to the front to find tl at his name Lad been erased form his Company's roll and he had been numbered with the dead. For gallantry on the battle field young Price was commissioned to a first lieutenantcy by the War Depart ment of the Confederacy and sent to Georgia on Post duty and put in command of the Ninth Congressional district. After four months on the Post. Lieutenant Price resigned ami raised a company of 132 men ami re entered for active service He was in many sharp conflicts afterwards, but the one ptrhtips, of most importance was that of Frog town' over in the edge of Forsythe county when at the head of Coh A. Youngs regiment he charged the enemy and in a short sharp contest, defeated them, recapturing thirty picked men, who uudei Capt. ernwford, had been thrown out as skirmishers, and who bad surrendered after Crawfords death not a half hour before the main fight. In the fight Capt. Price also captured a large quantity of ordi' nance, many stands of arms, 65 tiine horses and many p’-isesers, among them the Provost marshal of old Cassville. Erve Price will finish up his march to the grave, with a “game leg, ' gtoten at Sharps Mountain, He is one of Gods noblemen, is what he, calls a “solid blue stocking demo oral" and a minister of the gospel oi the Baptist denomination, His party has never found him any where except in the thickest of the fight and his church has never turaed to him and found him absent. Loval to his friends, open to his foes he is a man to love and a man to depend i>n. Why if Capt. Erve Price were worth a million dollars iu cash he would not forsake his church, forget his party or desert a fiiend, He is not bu'lt that way and does'nt know hew to learn. Washington, April 25.—Tbetreas ury officials.while disclaiming any fears of toruble on account of the ! presence of the crowds incident to [ the coming of Coxj’s army, have tak en the precaution of adding fifty five carbines and twenty revolvers to the treasury’s supply of arms. Tle normal strengh > f the watch force of the treasury is seventy men divided into two reliefs, and in addi tion to two or three dozen revolvers there have always been thirty five re volers the racks in the office of the captain of the watch, sufficient to supply one to ea«h watchman ou du V- K It has b e i thought best, however to increase the supply in view of the crowds of haugers on of Coxey's army that are expected to arrive in the city during the coming week. The captain of the ’ Treasury Guard,“a local military organization composed entirely of clems in the treasury department. to day informed the captain of the watch force that in case of anyjhour of the day or night he could have every man in his command at the treasury building inside of forty minutes. mb He stated that his men were well drilled iu the use of arms aud hence* cmld do much more effective work then civilians.
