I am very sorry to see my friend
Mark McDonald tender hißresign
tiou to the City Council. With
it’s acceptance the Second ward
looses a good representative, and
the city a pood Aiderman. I like
Marie McDonald and 1 dislike the
condiotioa of things that forces us
to loose his voice in the city’s
usiness affairs.

With the resignation of Mark
McDonald conaws another election
ai d the question is who does the
city want to fill the vacancy. 1
dont know who wants the place
nor have I a preference at this
writing. 1 have had several sug
gest to me the name of my next
door neighbor. Mr. Sam Veal the
book store man, I don’t know
whether Sam would accept the
place or not, but if he would he
would “make a good ’uu."
Among other names suggested
to me I will mention those of
Charley Bass, Henry Lansdell,
Lou Wagner, Leonard Todd, and
M. W. Brett. Any other of these
gentlemen would make good
servants to the people. I hope some
good man will be suggested, one
that all of us can agree upon and
that he will be elected without a
scramble. Who shall i L be?
