Its the family skeleton that often fattens the poor lawyer. Today is St. Vetus day, but what has that to do with the dust dancing in your eyes. Atlanta politicians have been taught that a perculiarity of sec ond childhood is that they don’t wear Bibbs. See? The Marietta Journal says that .? ,100 votes were polled in Cobb --county, in the Saturday’s primary —This is sickening to the soul of "the third party howlers. A newspaper recently started in ■'Oregon has adopted the motto,“Ae mind our own business.' If this is adhered to, the paper will not be much of a success —The Fourth Es tate , Mayor Wesley Shrop c hiie of -Summerville is a candidate to rep resent old Chattooga in the next .Legislature. Wess is a good un a,ud a host of Romans want to see filial elected. Perry is a great one on 'names. He has dubbed the Atlanta Constitution and the Augusta 'Chronicle, respectively, The Con st! Stevenson may suit David Ben nett Hill but the people want, and are going to have Whitney. Mark that prediction. Some of the Democratic papers in Georgia will have a fine dish of crow to eat after th* convention meets August 2d. Go slow, boys! Georgia will have a good Governor whether it be Atkinson or Evans. —Cedartown Standard. Why does Atkinson yearn for the gubernatorial chair when he can sit in hij own lap?—Macon News. Was it because he could “sit in his cwn lap” that the Democrats of Macon tied Bibb onto him? The Democratic Executive Com mittee for the 7th Congressionel District will meet in Rome next Wednesday to fix the time and place for holding a convention to nominate a Democratic candidate for Congress.—Cedartown Stand ard. The Heiald will please note that the Hustler of Rome carries no dead advertisements or "pet met tal.” On Saturday, August 18th, Cobb county, will hold another primary and nominate Representatives and choose delegates to the Congres sional convention. The indica tions are that Maddox delegates will be chosen by an overwhelming vote. 1 o a man in Floyd it looks as if the “New York Macon Telegraph” was on top down in the Central City. The democrats of Bibb have spoken and it is now in order for the city of Augusta and the city of Atlanta to issue a manifesto call ing their “Rings.” home. A woman at Myertown, Pa., stood guard over her late husband’s grave on Memorial day and with a pistol drove off those who attempted to place flowers thereon. The race for congress so far as the Democratic party is concerned is practically settled. While Mr. Ev erett has announeed himself as a cannidate for that position, Floyd county has endorsed Mr. Maddox without a dissenting vote. About three miles from this place an was made to blow up a large bridge with dynamite. Today, upon request from t! e Georgia Pacific's attorney, Judge Bruce issued an order instructing the United States marshal to pro tect the property of the road at al] hazards.
