Abdul Aziz bids very fair soon
to be Abdul as isnt. He has a
wicked uncle, Muley Ismail, who
wants to be sultan, and his tribes
carry long spears and are trained
in the ait of murder. Abdul is lia

concerning the gubernatorial race
in Georgia:
'■Mr. 1 Atkinson still leads by a
handsome majority ii; Georgia.
He is the curly beaded candidate,
but is still running hard enough
to straighten his hair. The race is
nothing like the one just closed in
Alabama, for Evans has never
been close enough to Atkinson to
make the thing really interesting.

that?
The Columbus Enquirer-Sun
says that the attact made on Judge
Gober, because of his recent visit
to Savannah, where he was hoapiti
ably entertained for a few days by
Flem du Bignon, would suggest
that the judges of the superior
courts should be careful not to go
beyond the limit of their judical
ourcuits during this campaign
without providing themselves
with certificate establishing the
non political significance of their
movements. These being exhibit

The Brunswick Times-Advert’s
er, which is supporting the candi
dacy of Gen. Evans for governor,
says editorially :
“The result of the election in
Bibb yesterday, and the probabili
ties of tomorrow, point to the win
ning of Hon, W, Y. Atkinson in
the gubernatorial contest. From
the direction of political senti
ment in every section, Mr, Atkii -
sod has won the race. In the inter
eer of Democratic harmony, the
Times-Advertiser believes that
the time his arrived when Gin.
Evans should withdraw from the
field.
“It is with a feeling of pure af
fection and unchanged admira
tion for Gm. Evaus that this Bug
gestion is made.
“The need of Democratic har
mony demands it.
“Gen. Evans has been over
whelmed by superior organization
and defeated. He should with
draw.”
The Times-Advertiser speaks
out merely because it is bolder
than other newspapers supporting
Gen. Evans, or else is more keenly
alive to the harm being done the
party by the useless prolongation
of the struggle for the nomination
We are sure that it speaks in the
interest of the party, and that its
•influence will ba felt.
