A YOUNG GEOIKHAN HONORED From a private letter from Washington, we learn that hd Maddox, son of Congressman Mad dox, was awarded tbe honor of de livering the valedictory address nt tbe close of the school which he has been attending. Thia is unusally considered a very high compliment by the pu pils, being, as it were, the post of honor, and we are informed that Ed acquitted himself m a highly creditable manner. lie was also awarded a beautiful gold medal for leading his class iu their stu dies. He was not permitted to contest for the prize for elocution, as after having been chosen to deliver the valedictory address, it was hardly considered fair to the other pu pils Chattooga News, A guilotino is needed in tbe Constitution otlice.
