The commissioners aprointed to mark and
lay out territory and define lines thereof for a
new militia district as netitioned for and <>e-|
scribed in the above petition, having made
tneir return reporting that they had had out 1
said territory and recommendi g a new 'militia
district be established, and i’ being made to ap
pear that a sufficient number of white men sub
ject to military duty remain in Watters District
to form a captains company and a sufficient num
her of white men are in t' e proposed new Dis
trict to form a captains <■ mnany and said com
missioners having reporte I 1 is expedient anti
best to establish such new district, the report
of said commissioners is approved, a new’ rnili
tia district is established in Floyd county, Ga.
which new district is named Ridge valley. The
lines of said district and territory embraced in
such new district are declare 1 to be and estab
lished as follows: Beginning at the Rome dis
trict line on the macademized road at the Adol
fus Harbour place and following this Calhoun
road to the Gordon county line, this road be
ing western boundary line of said district,
thence from said road east along the Gordon
and Floyd county lines to Bartow county line,
this line being the northern boundary of said
dist, thence along Bartow county line, to Eto
wan District and also along Etowah dis
trict line to Rome district line, this being
the eastern boundary line of said dis-rict
tLence along Rome district line to Calhoun (
road at Adolfus Harbour’s place, the above ter
ritory being the entire territory heretofore em
braced in Watters District that lies on east
sine of the Calhoun road in open court the date
aforesaid. This June 4'h. I*H.
Whereas, it appear from the v.meeedi gs of
Commissioners appointed therefore, of tile in
this office, that a new Militia district with su>t
able meets and bounds has been laid out in rbe
County of Floyd ; i.nd it further appearing that
said proceedings are in due form and accord
ing to law; it i.s Ordered
That said New '’vitia district be known and
nsininguishe I as number 1516, and that p. op
er r cord ’hereof be made in the office of this
department.

scrape, paint and adjust the three iron bridges
belonging to the county, to wit, the bridge at
the foot of Second Avenue, the bridge at the
foot ot Broad street, and rim bridge over the
Oostanaula river on Fifth Avenue, leading to
the Fourth ward. Said bids to be in the ,>ic

gust fith, 1891. A bond will be required from

during the legal hours of sale, the property here
inafter described.
Whereas on January Sth. 1893. W. M. Messen
ger, of the county of Dallas, State of Alabama’
did exeeuteand deliver to the Atlas Savings &
Loan Association of Hamilton county, Tennessee,
party of the second part, his deed of conveyance
to the following described lands and tenements,
situated in Floyd comity,Georgia, (in which deed
the Citizens Bank.t Trust Co. ot Chattanooga Ten.
nessee was named as trustee ami titles to said
property vested by said deed in said Trustee) to
wit: "Lot in South Rome, now Fifth Ward of
city of Rome, being a part of lot number fifty
eight (58) Commencing at a stake in center of
alley and running front one hundred and eigh
teen (118) feet to the corner facing Main Street
from the bridge, from thence up the side street
one bund red and seventy-nine (179) feat, from
thence down the alley one hundrad and twenty
three (123) feet to the beginning at the stake.’
Said Trust deed being executed to secure the
payment of a note for .S3OO dated January sth-
1893, and given by W. M. Messenger to the Atlas
Savings & Loan Asssciation.
And said W. M. .Messenger having subscribed
for one and one half shares of the Capital Stock
of said AssiH-iation of the value of three hundred
dollars and the said Association having advanced
to W. M. Messanger the sum of 8300 011 said
shares, and the said Messenger, in said note and
deeil of trust having agreed to pay said Atlas
Saving A Loan Association, thirty-seven and
half cents weekly installments of dues and llfty
two and a halfcents weekly as premiums on said
shares as provided by Charter and Bylaws of
said Association ; ami thirty-four and 32-52 cents
weekly as interest at six per cent on said sum of
.8300.
