Notice is hereby given that a petition signed
by fifteen or more Freeholders of rhe 1516th
District G. M. of said County has been filed in
my office asking that the benefits for the provi
sions of Sections 1249, 1460. 1451, 1452, 1453,
and 1454, of the Code of Georgia of 1882 and
the mendments theretoshall apply to said Dis
trict. 1 further give notice that said matter will
be heard on the 29th.day of August inst.and If no
valid objection are shown an Election will be

About the poorest and tiredest
man in Rome yesterday afternoon
was Prof, J. B. Gwaltney. .Jim
has been at work during the last
week getting subscriptions from
our citizens to put in his school f -
boys a library to const 1 puiK-ipal-
Iv of referenc books. The basis
of the library and a good encyclo
pedia.
This is a project which -should
commend itself to everycitizen of
this section. Mr. Gwaltney desires
the Hustler to thank those who
have helped him., for their hearty
response to his requests.
The money given will be spent
wisely and to the permanent good
of every boy who attends the
school.
Why should not Rome have a
equipped Academy for Boys? It
is our belief that Jim is the man
to put one in Rome and we com
mend him, his school, and his
libary scheme to our citizens and
to our section, when he calls on
you to help him. He says that
Rome book-sellers, will be given
the preference but that he wil
makeclose figures with all dealers.
Singing at Lytle’s.
There will be an old fashion
singing at Lytles Park ou Thurs
day. August 30th conducted by
Hon. John Davis and the genial
East Rome musician G. B. Holder.
The singing will begin at 6
oclock and continue until 11 p m.

The petition of R. 4 S. Draper shows
the following facts:—
Ist. That petitioner is laboring
under disabilities imposed by the
granting of a divorce by the Supe
ior Court of Floyd county to Nora
Draper.
2nd. That Nora Draper of said
county, on the 14th. dsy ot Muy 1892
filed in the Clerk’s office of the Su
perior court of Floyd county, her
application for a divorce, setting
north the following grounds to wit;
“Said defendant wasoftentimescruel
abusive and unkind to your petition
er, and his treatment recently be
came so unkind and cruel to your
petitioner, that it became unbearable,
for her said husband was continually
abusingand ill treating your petition
er by cursing her. charging her with
unchastity and that in her presence,
and in such and divers other ways,
making the life of your petitioner
miserable, his general conduct to
wards her being of such cruel char
acter that no human heart of any
feeling could possibly bear and un
dergo by longer continuing in his
resence and living with him as his
wife, and they are now not living to
gether as husband and wife.’’
Upon the trial of said case at the
March term 1894 of Floyd Superior
Court the following verdict was ren
dered, it being the second and final
verdict: “We the Jury find sufficout
proof have been submitted to dir
consideration to authorize a totalcul
vorce, and that a divorce, A Viienno
Matrimonii be granted Plantiff, her
maiden name, Nora Moore be restor
ed to her, and that the defendant,
Robert Draper be not allowed to
marry again. March 31st. 1894
Wherefore petitioner prays the re
rnoval of his said disabi ities at the
next September term of said Court
in compliance with the statues in
such cases made and provided. And
your petitioner will ever pray etc.
