Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Me Arver of Lavender are visiting Me Arver’s sister, Mrs. Kirby at Lyerly. Mrs Kirby is dangeously ill. Rev. Charlie E. Wright of Chat tanooga passed through the city today enroute to Etna where he will conduct a series of protracted meetings, Mesrs A. B. Me Arver & Co. will begin moving into the Medical building on Monday. Mr. A. O. Girrard is moving his millinery into the same legant building to day. In Recorders Court this morn ing Oscar Winn of Dark town was fined $2 for smiting the cheek of a Dark town Amazon and Mr Honey, of near Cedartown was fined $3 for a plain drunk. The Bush Arbor Meeting- The Arbor meeting four miles north of Rome, near the home of Mr Sanford Chapmans, will continue throughout the week. Owing to the inclemant weather, yesterday servi ces were held in a neighbors school house. The change did not retard the interest and gracious meeting, were held. Rev. John W. Bal preaching at 11 a. m. and Rev J. A, Sewell, at 8. p. m. There have been about thirty con vertions and reclaimations so far Seven have already united with the Methodist church, and several will join the Baptist church at an early date. BAD MARKSMEN. Two brothers named Burwell have had a feud growing out of the division of their fathers prop erty. One lived with his mother and wife at the old home. The other went there to see his mother. The other brother suddenly rushed out of the house at him with a revolver in his nafid and began firing, while the la dies screamed with fear. The visiting brother returned the fire and eleven shots were exchanged while the men were in the yard. That petitioner is laboring under disabilities imposed by the granting of a divorce by the Supe rior Court of Floyd county to Nora Draper. 2nd. That Nora Draper of said county, on the 14th day ot May 1892 filed in the Clerk’s office of the Su perior court of Floyd county, her application for a divorce, setting north the following grounds to wit: “Saiddefendantwasoftenti.nesoruel abusive and unkind to your petitioi - er, and his treatment recently be came so unkind and cruel to your petitioner, that it became unbearable, for her said busband was continually abusing and ill treating your petition er by cursing her. charging her with un chastity and that in her presence, and in such and divers other wavs, making the life of your petitioner miserable, his general conduct to wards her being of such cruel char acter that no human heart of any feeling could possibly bear and un dergo by longer continuing in his resence and living with him as his wife, and they are now not living to gether as husband and wife.’’ Upon the trial of said case at the March term 1894 of Floyd Superior Court the fallowing verdict was ren dered, it being the second and final verdict: “We the Jury find sufficout proof have been submitted to dir consideration to author.ze a totalcul vorce, and that a divorce, A Viienno Matrimonii be granted Plantiff, her maiden name, Nora Moore be restor ed to her. and that the defendant, Robert Draper be not allowed to marry again. March 31st. 1894 Wherefore petitioner prays the re moval of his said disabilities at the next September term of said Court in compliance with the statues in such cases made and provided.
