A minstrel will invariably At tract a large audience, and when such veteran burnt-cork artist as Milt Barlow heads the combina tion, the whole public is sure to go out. An average size audience was at Nevin’s last night to see Barlow, Dolson & Powers’ show. But on a whole, the array of talent was weak, the gags were very ancient and the singing was somewhat amiturish Barlow is unquestionably one of the leaders in his line of work, but he was not at his best last night by any means. The company played their respective parts pretty much like automatons and like their highest ambition was to draw sal aries. But this show had redeeming fea* tures. The dancing and special ties of the Higgins brothers was very good indeed, and won hearty applause. The contortionist, Mons. Zella, was the best ever seen in Rome, and his costume made him look , like some imp of darkness.
