QUARTERLY CONFERENCE fievs. John Bale and P. C. Flether Stand Excellent Examination. The Fourth Quarterly Confer ence of the First Methodist church coiiveined Moi day evening with Rev. T. F. P ierce the Presiding JElder in the chair. The session was a long and interesting one, much businessof importance being dispatched, The reports from Dr Oibson, the pastor, showed that »the church was in fine condition, and tint much progress had been made. Rev. John W. Bale aud Phillip C. Fletch r, alter standing credit able and approved ex inn nations, were recommended to the Annual Conference for admission into rhe travelling conventions. Mr. Fletcher Smith, the job printer, has just finished a hand some new register for the Arm strong hotel. The printing and binding was all done in Mr. Smith’s office, and is as good a piece of work as is turned out in any of the big book binderies in the North. His oflice is equipped with all the modern improvements, and besides being a first class workman him self, none but the best workmen are in his establishment. The ads, were all gotten up by Mr. John Coker, the clever head clerk at the Armstrong. The blot ter between the sheets have a neat and tasty lot of advertisements of the representative business houses of Rome. GORMAN DENOUNCED.
