The three started out of town Hamilton was knocked from his buggy and S7OO, his gold watch and chain taken, he was horribly cut about the head and face and cannot recover. One ear was severed and an eye knocked from the socket. After the robbery Hamilton’s assailants disappeared with his horse and buggy. Double Murder by a Negro Montgomery, Ala. Columbus, Ohio, October 4. — Bert Kellogg, a Defiance County convict in the penitentiary, this afternoon attempted to murder his guard, Frank Ferris, of Henry County, by opening the flood gates of the furnace for the purpose of having the flery stream flow over the guard.
