October 22. —The Attorney General has received a letter from J. Adams, United State Marshal at St. Paul, tender ing his resignation, on the ground that he cannot consistent with the President’s letter of 1886 in regard to Federal office holders taking part in political campaigns. His resignation has been accepted. Polios Court. The attendance at police court was rather light for a Monday m< r ling sesison. Saturday night Alice Ellison quarrelled with her daugheer in a down town dive. Mary Willie, a famous character in police circles, interferred and got smacked in the ' mouth for her trouble. Alice was fined $4 and Mary Willie $2.50. Mac Ellison struck Dan Wimber over the eye for intruding in his home, both dismissed. John Bell, plead guilty to plain drunk and was fined SB.OO.
