Watts is well con mcted in this co nmunity and the best legal talent in tT s’a e was employed in his defense. Breckinridge Speaks. Lexington, Ky ~ Oct. 23. — Al Winchester today Colonel W C. P Breckinridge spoke to severa thousand people. The colonel spoke in favor of the democratic nom inees for county and district ofii ces Wiuch»ater is iu the tenth congressional district, in which Judge William Buckuer aud Joe Kendall are the short and long term candi bates. The colonel’s reception signifies that he will prove a dangerous factor in the ■ race for United States senator. The Deal was Stopped. Pittsburg, Pa. Annie Londonderry, of Boston, v ho left Chicsgo on September 24 with only three cents in her puree to make a tour of the globe ou a bicycle, arrived here this morning, just 27 days out. Her trip to far has been, without incident. She had not iutended to touch at this point, but the bad roads compelled to take a more northerly rout* than the. one she had mapped out. Miss London- ' derry experts to reach New York ! on time to take a steamer leaving on November 15 for France.
