HE WAS SANE. Jerry Boyle Disgust*: the Ft. Worth Gamblers. Ft. Worth, Texas, Nov. I.—A seedy looking individual, giving his name as Jerry Boyle, arrived in the city Saturday evening from the West. He was solemn looking, wore a ministerial suit of black and looked as though he might have been a country preacher off on a vacation. He registered at a cheap hotel, ate dinner, dalled it supper, and started out to see the city. About 2 o’clock yesterday morn ing complaint was made at the po lice station by several members of the gambling profession, charging that he was crazy, but, as he was perfectly sane he was liberated. It appears that Boyle’s earthly possession® when he arrived in the ' , 'ty amounted to 25 cents, and it Be? is his sanity was questioned on account of his mania for more. His first move was to enter a do vn-town gambling house. I.—A great sensation was caused here tonight by the arreat of Sheriff Win Grant Ward, who has the distinction ot bung the‘‘boy Sbariff of Ohio,’ ju the charge of paternity. Th* complainant is a bright mu attogirl named M ggie Rutledge, who has recently been living in Cincinnati, where she alleges her child w»e born, October 9, 1894. Miss Rutledge is rather attractive and tells a very straight story. RAISED A RUMPUS, j Irate Indianian Visits a Theater in Search of Gore. Indianopolis, Oct 31 —While he performance was on to-night at the Empire Theater Manager Zimmeiman noticed a tall, well dressed, powerful stranger wa'k down the isle and angrily address a well-dressed man and woman who were enjoying the show. I Before the audience caught on the stranger was ejected. He then stationed himself in front of the theater, avowing a determin ation to shoot the object of his wrath when the show closed. This led to his arresr, He reg istered as Thomas Picketts, of Tip ton County. He claimed that P. T. Brown, whom be had threatened, was iu the theater with his neice, but both the man and woman disclaim ed all knowledge of hun. Mr. Pick etts gave bond on two charges. All the parties were singularly non committal. A Tramp the Murderer Hopkinsville, Ky.. Oct. 31, — Ben Bumpass, a railroad band, who was shot by a tramp at Mor tonville Sunday died today.
