Calhoun, Ga., November 7 The best estimate with precincts heard from is that Gordon county has gone for Feltou by 160 majori ty. COBB COUNTY. Marietta, Ga., November 7. The majority of this ceunty for Maddox will be about 500. Ten precincts, including Marietta, out of fifteen by vote stand: Maddox, 1,190; Felton 628. A majority re port from twelve precincts give Maddox a majority of 569. Three country precincts yet to hear from will reduce this to 500. BARTOW COUNTY. Cartersville. Ga., November 7. Maddox carries this, Felton’s home precinct. Felton’s majority in the I county is 350. CATOOSA COUNTY. Ringgold, Ga., November 7.—The total vote in Catoosa county today was 490 Maddox recieved 344; Felton rec eved 146.-Maddox’s majority 193. CHATTOOGA COUNTY. Summerville, Ga., November 7. The vote in Chattooga, 825; Fel ton 400 Maddox’s majority 425. WHITFIELD CO3TY. Dalton, Ga., November 7. —With four precincts to hear from, Mad dox has *214 majority in this coun ty. Populists concede it t® Maddox by 109 majority. MURRAY COUNTY Murray couuty goes for Maddox by 150 majority. A populist tough had hie jaws slapped by a demo crat today for telling him he vot ed a “scoundrel’s ticket,’’ when he voted the democratic ticket. The populist got a good ear-boxing. DADE COUNTY Trentou, Ga., November 7. Dade county will give Judge Mad dox at least 300 majority. POLK COUNTY. < Cedartown, Ga., November 7. Polk has gone for Felton 400 ma. jority. The total vote is about 1,600, with a registration of 2,400. The vote is about 175 less than the October election. A full thirdpar i ty vote was polled, and there was a RAH FOR BONDS. Outlook is That the Great Question is Settled Satisfactorily. LAW AND OPINIONS. It Required only Two-thirds of the Tally Sheets of the Last Election, and Floyd County Bonds are Safe. Hurrah for Floyd county and bonds. According to the construction of the law and the opinions of the best posted men in the city, bonds are safe, aud the people Lave said to issue the same. Everybody was feeling gloomy last night over the outlook, for the outlook was that the famous ques tion of bonds had been lost. The general expression was that it re quired a two-third vote of the total | registration list, and as only 2,096 votes were cast for bonds, and as it required over 2,600, the prospects were not good. But this morning parties inter ested have been looking up the law, and according to everyone’s opinion it means that two-thirds of the tally sheets of the last elec tion, which was in October. The total vote then was about 2,025, and as the vote for the bond issu stoid 2,096 for, and 81 against, we will carry the day. Rome east 1 107 votes for bonds and not one against them. Ain’t that something to be proud of? ButjEverett’s Springs is the ban ner district of disgruntled cranks. The total vote against bonds was 81, and that district cast 41 of them ! Ain’t that something to be ashamed of? The J subject of Floyd county bonds has assumed national im portance, and great minds of this country have expressed opinions on the iesue. And the papers from Maine to California have oeen fill ed with long dispatches, and edi torials about them One thing certain—Floyd is tie best advertised county in the Uni ted States. Letters es inquiry aud suggestion have poured ia here for several weeks. The general opinion of the best posted men seen* is that the bonds are all right.
