day, but take into consideration
the population of the two counties
and it will be found that Hancock
is away up at the topnotch itself.

Up to the time this legislature
has done nothing but agonize over
the distribution of the offices. Now
it has an opportunity to go to work
on the legislation which the people
of the state expect from it. We
think there can be little doubt that
the chief thing which the people
expect of this legislature is a new
election law, that will insure" not
merely cleaner elections, but a
more inteligent electorate.—Ma
