Patient in art Asylum Plunged In to a A Bath Tub. , Richmond. Va., November 10 W.W. Jones, an inmate of the ,v estern Lunatic Asylum‘at Staun ton. died last night from being scalded in » datb tub, into which he was pushed by an angered fellow patient Jones was 62 years old, and was a respected citizen of Wood stocK uutil a few years ago, whom his mind fai’.d him. ‘On Thursday Mr. Jones was in the bathroom of the hosptal, and got iuto a dispute with a young man named Magruder and the latter plunged him into a dath tuEtbat had been filled with boiling water. The suffering man yelled lustily, and the floor attendant rushing to the rescue relieved the old gentle man, not, however, before he had been fearfully scalded about the neck and over the back. Every at. tention was given Mr. Jones by the hospital physicians, but his condition was beyond the aid of human efforts. The widow of the deceased and his son, C. W. Jones, were at once summoned, and were in Staunton today when the body was tempora rily buried. The deceased was the father of 8 x children.lt was while defending Mr. Jones in the case wherein the question of his sanity was at issue that the late United States Senator Kiddleberger refused to obey an order of Court, and was sent to jail for c< tempt. This occurred shortly before Mr. Riddlebarger’s retire ment from the Senate, and created a grtet sens', tion.
