morning of Tuesday last one brig

started for Chefoo, which is across
the Gulf of Pechili, some 85 miles

A dispatch dated Talieuwan,No.
vember 7, from Admiral Ito, Com
mander in-Chief of the Japanese
Navy, says that the squadron left *
i Chiosansetsuto on November 6,
and on the morning of the 7th was
near Talienwan. No firing was
heard from the forts and the squad
ron steamed into the bay, when I
