I wm among the small audience
of fortunate ones who went to
Nevin's last night to see “The
Tornado.’’ I saw it and wish I had
time to try to write the show up
just as it deserves. I feel confident
that those who'saw “The Torna
do’ will agree with me that it was
absolutely the best scenic produc
lion they have ever witnessed at
Nevins, or most anywhere else.
From scene to scene there was
fun and frolic, and then, with a
moments warning the • was a
presto-change, and crash, or a
flash, or a splash, or a smash and
there you were in a tornado that
literally blew all creation away, or
a house on fire, or a man and wo
man over board, or a collission
and ship wreck.
*»*
. But one of the most impression
scenes inthe g alixi of startling
productions was thad of the
dissecting table. Sbcu'd the Tor
nado be induced to returned to re
turn to Rome. I predict that it will
• asilv play to “standing room on

Is What a Recent Incendiary fire
is Called.
Buchanan, Ga, Nov. 20.—Th®
robbing and burning of Mr. Dan
Murdock’s house in Wild Cat
Friday night was an extraordin
arycrime in a civilised country of
Ged-fearing people
Mr. Murdock is a poor, hard
working fanner who has widowed
mother to look after, and Friday
night, while away from home see
ing after his m«thsr, some unprin
cipled wratch or wretches broke in
to his house and stold away his
trunk,carrying it about seventy
five yards away, and took sB3
-.ill the poor fellow had after sell- i
ing his cotton—from the trunk, 1
and, not being satisfied with this, 1
set fire to his house and burned all |
the man and his family had excel t
what they had on.
I here should be a reward off
ered for the apprehension of the '
perpetrators of the crime, and,
if overtaken, h aging would i ot
be any too severe.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the
Rome Keely League served many’
oyster dinners today' and will con
tinue the good work again this
afternoon from 4 o clock until 10
o’clock tonight. They’ are using
the big store rooms next to Willi—
a nson s Jewelry house and will be
glad to serve you oys'ers a,la-any
