Farmland, Ind., November 27. H. 0. Huffer, a prominent educa- . tor and at present teacher in the Farmland Public School, commit ted suicide this morning. He had been complaining of i<l health for several days and imagined that he was losing his mind. He used aj Winchester rifle, and sent a ball j crashing through his brain ju. t o er the eyes. He left a net? stating that he had contemplated suicide for over two years. Pe was soon to be mar ried and left SSOO to his intended bride. He was an exempla y young man. Howoll Happenings. Seney, Ga., November 27. — Mr. Burkhalter and brother, of I Lavender has put up a saw mill at I the head of Spring Creek, with the j view of saving and coaling the timber of the surrounding com munity. Our little village* of Seney is growing in business. It now has a steam gin, a grist mill, two doc tors, one dentist, two stores and one blacksmith shop. Rev. C. C. Smith is acting as mayor, black smith, and bachelor, and Will House as assistant bachelor. Josh. Would if he Could. New York, November 27. —Frank Ellison, now a resident of Sing Sing, but formerly known about tewn as “Biff” Ellison, would like to go to England. He has been served with papers to appear be tore the High Court of Adjudica tion in London in the divorce suit brought by Douglas Neame. Ellison informed the clerk that | he would be pleased to comply, | but he felt his condition wculd not permit his leaving America jusi vet. He declines to discuss the case out of Court. Priest Asphyxiated. San Francisco, Nov 27 —M hen an attendant at the parish house of St. Francis called Rev. Father James O’Connor for early mass this morning, he found the priest dead in bed, with the room filled with escaping gas. In turning off the gas last night by a mechanical device it is pre sumed that he unconsciously turn ed it on again. Father O’Connor was 41 years of age, and a native of Cloyne, Ireland.
