NEW RED NECKTIE The other day a glorious vision of color filled the Senate chamber. The roseate hues with which Honor ushers in the eventful days of the Iliad were pale and wan in com parison. The gorgeous trappings of the Turk, the sensuous tints which delight the eye in the land of the Algerian, the ruddy glow of Vesu vius against the darkness of a mid night sky, would fail to afford even a faint idea of the corusca tion which burst upon the startled eyes of an unprepared Senate. A lambent flame, as it were, illumin the historic chamber, and even the darkest recesses of Senator Peffer’s whiskers reflected back the glory of the unwonted fire. Senator Blackburn wore a brand new red necktie.
