The following, from the Nash ville American, puts the public on notice that Hi Henry’s minstrels have lost none of the snap and fun which has made the name of t e aggregation of black faced artists famouse, for years. “Hi Henry’s Minstrels came at a time when there had been a damp er thrown on minstrelsy by new minstrel companies by the previ ous appearance of the rottenest. company that ever struck t i neck of the woods. Despite this the company drew a good house and played to satisfatory business. The company proved one entitled to the support of the minstrelsy loving people. There are a number of new and! very bright songs by capable and I pleasing voices and many of the I stories are funny. The opening! scene has a background suggested by the World’s Fair, a view of the Grand Basin and a part of the Court of Honor. As an interlude a magic lantern throws on the scene a number of pictures portraying a tour around the world, the whole occupying ten minutes and depictinjpscenes from New York across the Atlantic, on around to San Francisco, and by train to Chicago, where the fair is taken in by a number of fine pict ures of scenes and buildings there. The after part consists of the usual line of specialties, and closes with a series of living pictures, representing classic marble statua ry. The entertainment is one that deserves patronage, and the mati nee this afternoon and the night performance should be greeted with packed houses. The entire programme is of an interesting and varied character. ” DOWN SHE GOES. Not over stocked but well sup plied with Jell co, Paint Rock & Alabama Coals, wLich you can g it a your own price.
