panied Mrs. Potter ever since her
London debut, and is an actor of
wide experience and wonderful

both in the Old and New World,
as the best romantic actor of the
day. He possesses in a marked de
gree that indescribable quality
called personal magnetism, and is
withal, a man of moat preposseaa
inj appearance. Mr. B-dlew was
born in London, but at an early
age removed to India, where his
youth wassp nt. He ran away from
Calcutta, and was a sailor for two
years, lie afterwards h>d cousid
•rable experience as a journalist,
and it was during this time that
his natural love for the stag' 0 deve
loped itself. For several years hr

ing his career he has played in
every theatre in London, in almost
