DIO THE WILD WEST ACT
Among the .Colored People of
West Rome. At the Muzzle

LatQ Friday afternoon Deputy
Sheriff Dallas Turner brought in
and lodged Monroe \\ bite in the

It. seems that White, who is m
22 year old white citizen of Ore
burg, had been to ’he cjty and
“tanked up” on “coffin varnish.”
'He then itnrted for home a\id made
lit alright, until he arrived in the
j quiet shades of West Rome s dark
town section.
Here Mr. White’s youth and
' • xuberance and his V\ ild West in
clination gained the supremacy
and drawing a couple of guns he
raised a whoop and woke up the
natives .
He pulled down on several negro'
cottages and touched iff his gat
fling guns The colored people
na'urally Jook on a bisr skeer and
went actively into the tJlrorizing
business. Big pots g 4 into littb
ones and dogs look to the woods.
Not satisfied with this White
corralled a few’of ihe frightened
denizens and at the muzzle < f his
repeater put them to dancing the
“Buzzard loap” and the “rair
back Davy" in all the wonderful
glory of thoSv spirited evolutions.
Just at this critical juncture,
when the poor terror zed darkies’
eyes had realized that there was a
young cannon ball in the d rk
depths of the muzzle that frowned
down upon them. Mr. Bill Dough
erty, the West Rome merchant
! slipped up behind the young man
I with the gun pinioned his arms
and wrenched the pistol from his
hands.
Two darkies fainted and three
others took to the mountains. Just
about ibis time Deputy Sheriff
Turner was driving by, halted,
took White in charge, searched
h m and found the other pistol.
The young desperado was put in
j«il and will betaught by ths luw ,
