CANBLERS LETTER
ENDORSED BY CLAY AND

MR DUBIGNON WON! RUN
: J< hn W. Maddox Endorse Thu
“Pigeon Roost Plow-Biy”.
Washington, Jan. 26.—The
members of the Georgia delegation
are greatly pleased with Candler’s
letter aniuuncing his candidacy
i for governor. Senator Ulay said;
“I read the latter and am great
ly impressed with it. It is broad
and will do much to unite the
factions. I think it is time for all
Democrats to get together, and
when they get together to stay to
gether. The executive committee
should be guided by a broad and
liberal spirit, a-, d who show a de
sire to come back or into the party
and who will abide by its decisions
shou'd be heartily 7 welcomed.”
Representive Fleming said:
“Candler’s letter is just what was
needed in Georgia. It fits the sit
uation exactly. It is a platform on
which all Democrats can stand.
No one wi h the party can make
a racemgainst him. I am particul
arly pleased with it. It will do
more to break the Populist party
to pieces than anything which fats
happened in years in Georgia.
And then he represents no clique,
no ring—all Democrats caa take
pride in supporting him.”
Representative Maddox says “It
is the right tiling said at the right
time. It is broad, liberal and
Democratic. ”
The other members all endorse
it in a similar strain.
Senator Bacon said. “I have
read Candler’s letter and it is a
strong Democratic doctrine, and
