Queen Op The Day.—ln the
19th anniversary of Anniston
which occurs Feb 16th and which
is to be celebrated in an extensive
manner Miss Alta McMillon will
be crowned Queen of the day. Miss
McMillen has the honor of being
the jfirat child born within the
limits of the “Model City.” She
has many friends in Rome.

Deputy Sheriff Bill McLeod went
to the oil mills to capture a ne

School Commissioner's office,
chairman A. B. 8. Mosley pre
siding. Present A, B. S. Moseley,
I. D. Gillard, S. J. Whatley, and
C. P. Morton.
Minutes of last meeting read
and approved. On motion of Capt.
Mosley, addressing Mr. Whatley
as chairman, it was decided that
this Board will make no discrim
ination on account of sex in ths
selection of school census enu
merators. Passed unanimously.

was decided that the School Com
missioner be instructed to furnish,
on the day of each meeting of the
Board of Education, an official
cepy of the minutes of the meeting
to each newspaper published in
the county and to request tleir
publication as a matter of news.
Captain Moseley resumed the
chair
Mr. J. D. OBryan of Armucbee
appeared before the Board and de
sired to receive an appropriation
to assist in building and furnish
ing a school house at Armuchee.
The Cnairman, Capt. Moseley,
Stated in behalf of the Board,,
that a majority of the present
loard of Education would soon
retire and therefore desired to
take no action looking to the
expenditure of money whichmiglit
embarrass the incoming Board.
