BYRD’S EYE VIEW |
That there are too many dogs
in Rome, I can readily prove by
my neighbor, Leonard Todd. Last
night about seventy-five strange
canines c< ngregated in bis back
yard They got into a free-tight
and the noise they created was
equal to a managerial run mad.
Njigl bor I’odd emptied the coal
scuttle into their ranks and then
fired the scuttle at them.

Talking about the Bartow coun
ty small pox f p drmic,“Dr.” Al
bert Ewing isays that Hon . Bob
Chamlee has murdered a one-eyed
yalley cat and buried the remains
in rear of hie barn, for the purpose
of warding off the disease.
*
* *
Upon being questioned by a re
ported Mr. Chamlee says that
"Dr.” Ewing had given him such
a prescription, but that as yet he
had not been able to secure the
cut.
* *
*
And now the question arises—
“who put a marked copy of the
Hustler of Rome in the wash
room of the Bridges jury?” It is
alleged that the paper was marked
with a blue pencil, too. Well I
wonder.

I want to call your especial at

Dr. George Brown, the eye, ear,
nose and threat specialist, of At
lanta, is meeting with a most re
markable, at the same time a most
deserved success. In my opinion,
there is not a more skilled or suc
cessful specialist in the South, I
make no exceptions.
**•
Dr. Brown has recently moved
his offices from the Lotn.ds build
ing to the Austell. Today his of
fices are as finely equipped and
elegantly furnished as are the of
fices of any physician in the coun
try.
*
* *
The change of base was made
necessary by a rapidly increasing
practice, My word for it, if you
are suffering with eye, ear, nose or
throat troubles, you are standing
in your own light until you con
sult him. His rooms are Nos. 312
and 313 in the new Austell build
ing .

dream of me having a word to say
in print, about him. He richly
merits all I have tried to say—

Attorney W. J. Nunnally, this
morning in the defense of a client
entend a most i ovel demurer. It
s<‘.-ms that Col. Nunnally’s client,
I o: e John Waker, of rural Dark
t'wn. was charged with having
, “stolen a sandy colored sow about
I three jears old.”
0 0 0
Brii fly, Col Nunnaly in his de

Webster the word “sow” meant
st veral things. That is an iron
furnice where pig iron was made,
that the central or mother streim
was called the sow.

Again that %hen the bill of in

such animals the law provide! no

“In other words,” said Mr,
Nunnally, “the indictment speci

i Henry ovuiruled the demurrer

not let Mr Nunnally “bog” his
alleged snow thief, who was a
man, out of court.

Later; —the sow-lhief was con

Henry sent him up for th r ee years
The evidence showed that he was

In opening c rurt this morning

“The court,” remarked his Honor
Judge II enry, “will not issue an

been exp. sed to small pox.” The
announdement provoked a broad
ripple of suppressed merriment in
the audie'nee.
