A. S Worrell established the Soldier’s Friend in Atlanta, Georgia in January 1863. The Christian newspaper professed to be ‘devoted especially to the intellectual, moral, and religious interests of the soldiers’ during the Civil War. The Soldier’s Friend published until at least mid-1864.
