dies Civic League has been telling
us for the past two months that
she was going to show us that the
ladies of lazlehurst were our{riend
Well. Saturday morning when we
came down to work we met a negro
with a mulec and ecart, shovel and
take. He told us to show him
avhat to do, that the ladies of the
¢ivic League had ordered him
¢own here to make the yard around
the News office look new---which

encouragement than what they get.
