COMPANY CERTAIN.

last week’s Times, a large and

House, Monday night, to (ffc.t an
organization of a military company.
Judge II. G. Biggins was made

Alter some discussion the convention
pioceeded to work. Thirty two names
were enrolled wiilun five minutes.
The required number will be readied
easily.
Mr. Jos A. Harper was called <m
tor a speech, and responded prompt
iy and vigoroti-ly. He said: *‘A
military company is a good thing 1m
a young man to join; it has an cleval
ing inlluence, and fills him with en
nobjing aspirations. It creates S|
spirit of progre-s that is good. He
explained the workings ol a military
company. A remark that, when a
young man ho had, himself, joined «
mditary company, created no
merriment. His remarks were re
ceived with applause.
