I he Times representative arrived in
tin-busy little town eaily this tnorn

pleased to note the many signs ol
prosperous activity. The people are
hard at work, this being the bu.-icst
season of the year with them, and
contentment, is plainly stamp**! on
every countenance. To grasp th<

Editor Blackshkar Times:— Im
provement in life generally, even in
any one phase or feature, or, on any
one line, is always very pleasant ami
gratifying. One may do very little
himself to secure the advantage of
improvement, yet all like to see an
advance on this line, and a desire to
see it should be the father of the
effort, and we think is. Especially
will ihis l»e true when surrounding
i'lHuences are helpful. But to
the lead, to step to the front
assume management and control,
position ami responsibility, both
(listened, then to gradually and
ly lilt up, and firmly establish in
hen its ol one's own people an
prise requiring both money
brains, ami without which
attempt at success would
a failure, is most ceituiuly a
able result.
These remarks are simply
atory. What we were de-irous
say. and be enabled to say it without
giving off--nee to the Times,
this: that it is great pleasure to
to note, as we read it, each week,
the decided improvement in

growing health ol sentiment,
m uinli.ess ol its morals, its !«»vc

in Biaekshear, mid iu the county oi
