Terrible Accident.
An outgoing freight train collided
with an ingoing freight train, near
Waycross. Wednesday morning.
The white fireman of one ol the
trains and two negroes were killed
outright, and a third negro was
fatally injured. We are unable at
this hour to learn the names of the
dead and wounded. The accident
seems to have been caused by care
lessness. The incoming train was
a little over due, and without wait
ing to know where it was the second
train was ordered out, requiting in

with lively and pleasant greeting-*
saluting the ear on all sides, and

scene as may scarcely lie realized
anywhere but in a country town.
In the cities it is different. Inter
csts are diverse as the nntionnliiics
which jumble ami crowd each other.
The localized interests which
the people ol n perceptible sparsely
country are i.ol ns to the
observer in the city thoroughfare as
in a country town, of course there
are interests in common in the city
arc as strangers to each other, while
in the country town, e.wh man's luce
is familiar to Uie other, and there is
in consequence a demonstration ol
interests in each others welfare, the
absence of which in the city makes
the loneliness ol the stranger in tin
crowd so uiiemluiablc. We leel at
