POINTS OF SUPERIORITY OF
Damascus Plow-
1 ht — The mould-board is cast on polished
iron plates, ischiilctl and in harder than
the sandy highest tempered steel. It will, in
soil, last ten times as long as
a cast-iron mould-board, and wilt scour
in sticky soil where a cast one will not
2nd.— Most one-horse plows are top heavy;
the Damascus has most of its weight
below ihe top of the mould-board, and
whether at work or standing still it
will stand up of its own accord. It
runs for this reason very steady and
easy for the plowman.
lird.—The shape of the standard makes it
less liable to cleg than olher plows.
4th.—The draft is known as a “centre
draft” and on the “Damascus” is as
much so as is that of a pole of a two
iiorsc wagon.
Elh.—There is no head of the beam bolt or
obstruction of anv sort ior trash to
hang to.
6 th.—There is room for tra-di to run off
to the left as well as to the right of the
sta ndard.
7ill.—The beam is handles, adjustable on the shifter
between the so as to turn it
to or from the land, so the exact centre
of draft may lie found.
Hill.—T he handles are so placed that the
plowman behind walks in the furrow directly
tire plow.
9th.—From the thickness and compact
arrangement of the castings it i. ti e
strongest one-horse plow in the mark

10th.—The handles arc fastened directly
to the standard, which takes all strain
off the mould-hoard and landside, and
brings plowman. the plow under perfect control
of tlie

and share are thoroughly chilled, and
ail of the material and workmanship
are of the bo-t.
