Mr. John B. O’Neil ol Bc&utort, S.
C., and his mother and little brother
ol Johnston, Ga., arrived in town
the first part ot last week and re -
tnained here until Tuesday, visiting
relatives, when they left for their re
spective homes.
Saturday the lfith is the regular
time lor calling a pastor at the Bap
tist church in this place. All per-ons
interested should be present, especial
ly the members of that church, as a
pastor is a very important feature
with all churches.

We have been informed that the
school closing exercises, last Friday,
down at the Plank school house were
not a success, on account ol tho rain
storm i hat came up about the time
the crowd arrived at the school
house. A beautiful program had been
arranged lor the occasion and had
it not rained the exhibition would
have surpassed anything of that lUnd
ever given before in that neighbor
hood. Mrs. MoElderry is a model
teacher, and thoroughly understands
the duty ol a teacher in the school
room. She has taught several large
schools in this county and has given
universal satisfaction in every in -
stance. Such teachers are low and
hard to find.
The rainbow and lawn party given
b} the ladies of the Parsonage Aid
Society of the Methodist church Tues
day evening, tit the McMillan House,
was a success. They realized about
