up an exhibit from every county in
the State. He took quite a long list
of names of farmers Irom our subscrip

Pierce ought to cotne in for her part.
He suggested that The Times remind

the department is very anxious to see

To the Public:
We propose manufacturing arftl
potting on the market within the

er, which we are confident will excel
in quality any fertilizer now sold in
this section. It will be known as
High Grade Blood and Potash Com
pouad. It will contain 100 pounds
more acid phosphate and 100 pounds
more potash salts than our Home
Compound, and the ammonia will be
derived from cotton scad meal and
dried blood in combination. The ad
vantage of combining blood and
meal is that a season that does not
suit meal often suits blood, and a
season that does not cuit blood often
suits meal. By combining tlie two

those desiring such a combination ol

ready to deliver after March 27th.

We have been working, or
negotiating, for the necessary mate
rial with which to make some impor
tant changes, in both the size atul ap
pearance, ol The Times, our couuty
paper, but until recently we have not
>cen able to attain to the zenith ol
■nr ambition. However, we Lave
succeeded in buying a pr'ss, chases,
paper cutter, etc., a portion of which
has arrived and the balance is on
the way; and il it is uot delayed we
will be prepared ere long to give our
readers a larger and better paper
and to do so successfully it will re
quire the cooperation of every citizen
in the county.
We will state right here that ex
perience teaches us that there are
two classes of readers and it is the
latter that we shall try to please.
First, there is a class of people
who cannot be pleased, they say the
paper is too big now, and they want
to stop their paper because they
haven’t time to read it.
Second, there is another class, who
-ays they want the paper made
larger so as to give more news. This
is the class we arc going to try to
please, il we should be inclined to
one class more than the other.
We have done our utmost to get
out a seven column paper this week
and otherwiso improve it. The
price will remain the same that it is
now,—one dollar a year. But to in
crease our circulation to at least one
thousand by the 15th of May, 1895,
we will receive cash subscriptions
up to and including court week for
75 cents; or The Times and the St'
vannah Weekly News for $1.30; or
The Atlanta Constitution, or The
Journal for only $1.15. Don’t mis
understand us and think this props
osition is indefinite,—it will positive
ly close on Saturday night of court
week, when the usual price will be
charged. Old subscribers who desire
to avail themselves of this unprcces
dented offer ean do so by paying up
their account to the time they want
their new subscription to commence.
Remember this opportunity will not
lust long.
