The greatest ambition of Amer
ican men and women is to have
homes blessed with children. The
woman afflicted with female dis
ease is constantly menaced with
becoming a childless wife. No
medicine can restore dead or
gans, but tY ine of Cardui does
regulate derangements that pre
vent conception; does prevent
miscarriage; does restore weak
functions and shattered nerves
and does bring babies to homes
barren and desolate for years.
Wine . of Cardui gives women the
health and strength to bear heal

Dr. Chas. H. Utter, a prominent ph> d

letter states: “Last March I had a patient
a young lady sixteen years of age, who
had a very bad attack of dysentery.
Everything I prescribed for jher proved
ineffectual and she was growing worse
every hour. Her parents were sure she
would die. She had become so weak
that she could not turn over in bed.
What to do at this critical moment was a
study for me, but I thought of Chamber

it. The most wonderful result was ef

BOARD OF EDUCATION
OF PIERCE COUNTY.
I being a former teacher of that county
desire to say something in regard to the
system of our schools. You give your
children the benefit of a five months
school, from the public school funds and
your schools are run at a time when one
third of the children have to assist on the
farm or have a vacation during the term;
and under this system the children get
the benefit of three months instead of
five months. Who gets the benefit of the
county funds ? the teacher or children ?
What we want and need, is to abolish the
vacation during a five months term of
school, and the only means we have,
is to have winter schools. Why not
have your schpol to open in November
or December, and run during winter?
You have good warm houses, in most of
the rural districts, and you can manage
the county funds to pay the teachers the
next year.
The cry among our patrons is “give us
winter schools and we can spaie our chil
dren.” Furthermore; the children are
more healthy in winter than in summer.
We need the Board to cooperate with us
and give the children the chance of win
ter schools. I as one, having an interest
in the boys and girls on the farm, ask
you to give us winter schools.
