Another Good Man Gone.
News reached here Saturday afternoon
that Mr. Louis Holtzendprff, of Pearson,
was dead. His daughter, Mrs, Jos. A.
Harper, left Sunday morning to attend
the funeral Mr. Holtzendorff was sixty
years of age and was One of the leading
citizens of Pearson, and was highly es
teemed by all who knew him. He had
been a sufferer for several years.

School Closing.
Miss Celia T. Brinson’s school at Pros
pect church closed on the 4th instant
with appropriate exercises. Miss Brin
son is a first-class teacher and has given
absolute satisfaction not only at the Pros
pect school but wherever she has taught
Commissioner Harper and Rev. C. M.
Ledbetter went from Blackshear and
brought back a flattering account of the
success of the school, and commends
Miss Brinson very highly as a first-class
teacher. The above named gentlemen
delivered addresses before the school
which were interesting and instructive.
The last but not the least was the din
ner on the grounds. To say that there
was withstanding plenty for all and some to spare, not
the large attendance,
would be only a meagre expression, and
it of the best the land and market affords
Miss Brinson will leave this week for Ma
con where she will remain three weeks
before going to Statesboro where she
has been engaged as one of the teachers
in the Waynesboro Normal Institute.
