Somebody’s Worse Off Than You
C
QUESTION BOX
When you look around with envy
On men who’ve more than you
Do you ever stop and ponder,
There’s lots their wealth won’t do?
Will it buy a place in heaven?
Can it buy love pure and true?
Could it buy that little baby,
Who is waiting home for you?
When your heart is sad and heavy,
And you’re feeling sad and blue,
Do you ever stop and think awhile,
There’s lots worse off than you?
Don’t you know there’s more behind you.
You’r not the last one in the race?
There’s many a fellow that you know
Would gadly take your place?
We spend so much time wishing
For things we haven’t got,
That we can’t enjoy the blessings
We have, and know them not.
So don’t look on with envy,
’Twill make you sour and old;
You’ve very many blessings
That can’t be bought with gold.
Do not think all are happy—
Just because they have wealth !
Why! All the money in the world
Can’t buy one hour of health!
So if you’re well, be happy;
Thank God both day and night
For giving you what wealth can’t buy—
A good big appetite.

constitution, and by bow many
processes may a bill become a law?

(1) A bill is the draft of a pro
posed law, there are three processes.
First process : i st, the bill shall pass
both Houses of Congress. 2nd. It
shall be presented to the President.
3rd. If he approve it he shall sign
it.
Second Process : 1st. The bill
shall pass both Houses. 2nd. It
shall be presented to the president.
3rd. If lie disapprove it, he shall
return it to that House in which it
originated. 4th. That House shall
enter his objections at large on their
journal. 5th. They shall proceed to
reconsider it; and if, after such re
consideration, two thirds of the
House shall agree to pass it, it shall
be sent, with the objections, to the
other House. 6th. The other House
shall reconsider the bill; and if
approved by two-tbirds of that
House, it shall become a law.
Third Process: 1st. The bill
shall pass both Houses, 2nd. It shall
be sent to the President. 3rd. He

(2)Is ir true as often said that
bats are totally blind ; if so how
do they manage to fly among trees,
wires etc. without striking them.
(2) The bats fly during the night,
concealing themselves in daylight
in caves, hollow trees, and dark
places, hanging by the hooks or
nails of their hind feet. Their large
ears and broad wings possess such
a delicate sensibility‘that they are
enabled to fly quickly and safely
through the mod complicated
passages
(3) Please explain latitude and
longitude, and tell ‘ why it is a
place can have twice as much
longitude as latitude.

Gone A-fishin’, But Makin' Good
Dear Friend :
1 wdl write you a few lines of
how l am getting on. This leaves
me well and doing well and hope
it will find you O. K.
Well, I have been working re-,
gular all the time I have been back.
At first I went down the river to
Shack, Ga.to help my brother who
..had a fishing contract and we sure
did have a good time.
I am back in town now and
working every day. 1 am to keep
it up and make good.
Tell the boys on the ox wagons
I said keep straight and not to run
the oxens and hold on to their jobs.
Tell Mr. Cochran and all the
boys hello. Tell all the boys to be
good. I am going to show you all
I can make a living and keep out
of trouble.
I sure would be glad if you
would write to me .
• Your friend,
Earnest Milan’

(1) Describe the process of di
gestion of the animals that chew
the cud, and tell what animals
besides the cow that belong 10 that
class.
(2) Please explain what is meant ■
by reflex action of the spinal cord?
(3) Please tell what the follow
ing terms : Ambassador, Minister,

(3) Latitude is distance north
and south of the equator towards
the poles. Longitude is distance
east and west of some given merid
ian, tr.eusuied on parallels in de-
giees, the greatest latitude a place
can have is 90 degrees north or
south, because latitude does not
go beyond the poles. The greatest
longitude cannot be more than 180
degrees east o: west, because longi
tude is reckoned both ways from a
given meridian to the other half
of a meridian forming with the
siarting point of a meridian circle.
