Constitatumalist (mb Kcmtbfic. BY JAMES GARDNER, JR. s!j Jilitgtirtit €t!rgriijj(i. Reported for the Constitutionalist & Republic. LATERTrOM EUROPE ARRIVAL or THE STEAMER PACI F I C . COTTON MARKET UNCHANGED. FLOUR DECLINED. CORN LOWER. YATCH AMERICA SOLD FOR £7,000. New-York, Sept. 14. "jfhe steamship Pacific has arrived, bringing 102 passengers, among them Catherine Hayes. Colton Market. —The Cotton market was less animated but prices unchanged since the sailing of the Niagara. Some parties quote one eighth decline. The sales of the four daysjreached 22,000 bales, of which speculators and exporters took 4,200. The stock of Cotton held in Liverpool was 6-17,000 hales. The Manchester market was quiet. Breadstuff's depressed. Flour had declined 6d. a Is. Corn lower. Code dull. Sugar, active at full rates. Gold in great profusion has been discovered at Bathurst, South Whales. The Yacht America has been sold for seven thousand pounds. Consols had advanced Jd. Charleston, Sept. 15. The Fugitive Slave Case. —The United States authorities have thus far arrested thirty live persons, mostly Negroes, connected with the recent Nergro riot at Christance, Penn. They are charged with murder and high treason. The evidence is very strong against them . Philadelphia, Sept. 15. Fifty-one arrests have been made of parties implicated in the Christiana outrage. The Mar shal and Commissioner Ingraham, proceeded to make further arrests to-day. Gov. Johnson of fered one thousand dollars reward for the appre hension and conviction of the murderers. The meeting of Texan creditom at [Washing ton, to-day adjourned and determined to leave the matter to adjudication. New-York, Sept. 15. Cotton. —The market is heavier, but there s no quotable change in prices. Office of TnE Board of Health, 1 Augusta, Sept. 16,1851. ) Since my report on the 9th inst., no new cases of Small Pox, and but two of Varioloid, have occurred in the city. The cases of Vario loid are mild, and rapidly recovering. The disease is still confined to the families and localities in whica it originated. Planters and others may visit our city in per fect safety, as there is not the least danger of con tracting the disease. WM. E. DEARING, Chairman Board Health. (From the N. O. True Delta.) September 8, 1831. Gentlemen. —l have just returned from a ; business tour through the best cotton growing) regions of Louisiana and Arkansas; and as some j account of the prospects of the crop may be in- | teresting, I purpose giving it, claiming no atten tion for my views that their truthfulness will warrant. In Drew, Ashley, Bradley, Calhoun, Ouachita and Union counties, (Ark.,) not more than one third of a good crop.ot cotton, under the most favorable circumstances, will be picked: while of ! coni, literally speaking, none will be harvested. I have seen hundreds of acres that will not | yield three bnshels to the acre. In Union coun- ] ty, the crops were better than in the others. In Chicot alone, is the prospect encouraging, and it is very much so indeed. From my enquiries addressed to gentlemen, who had travelled through the other sections of the State, and who, 1 had reason to believe, were not interested in misleading, the condition of the crops were no better than in the counties 1 have referred to. In the (fine hill parishes of Louisiana, a more promising yield may be expected, hut they can- j not certainly make over hall a crop of either t cotton or corn. In Union, Jackson, Caldwell, Claiborne and Bienville parishes, with the exception of one or two favored localities of limited extent, rain had not visited them for ten or twelve weeks at a time; in consequence of which, the crops were j burnt out. lam satisfied half a crop at the ut- j most cannot be exceeded. The river plantations ; generally will turn out well. Moorhouse, Frank lin, Catahoula and Concordia, with occasional exceptions, have a good appearance; a few, how ever, will not make one-fourth. Should the upland or hilly cotton growing country in other quarters, have suffered from drought to the same extent as that visited by me, the conclusion is to my mind irresistable, that the crop of this year will not be heavier then that of last season. Your friend, TRUTH. We have the fullest confidence in the veracity and trustworthiness of our correspondent, and so having, take pleasure in publishing his favor. Our readers will form their own opinions of its merits. N ew - Orle ans, Sept. 12, 9JSO P. M. Two thousand five hundred bales of Cotton were disposed of to-day at from 8i to 81 cents. Mess Pork is worth $16,25. Corn is firm, and yellow is worth 46 and white 54 cents. The brig Tehuantepec brings dates to the 6th inst. from Havana. A further release of mem bers of the expedition has taken place. The Te huantepec brings no news of New-Orleans, Sept. 13, 8. 15 P. M. The sales of Cotton in this market during the week amount to 8,800 bales, and the receipts for the same period 10,._,00 against 3000 at the same time last year. To-day, Saturday, 1,800 bales ■were sold at a further advance of an eighth of a fcent. Middling is worth 8] cents. Bacon is ®uil, and Sides are quoted at lli, Shoulders at Si, Bind Hams at Irom 10 to 12 cents ir ( l ue Saranac, Capt. Y ATF .s, has cleared |fior Charleston. This preparation has now borne the test of over 14 years experience, since its first introduction to public fa vor, during which time numerous imitations have sprung into existence, founding tlieir claims to the confidence of the community on the curative powers contained in Sarsaparilla Root, the great reputation and extended use of which has been mainly attributable to the many wonderful cures effected, by the use of this preparation. While Sarsaparilla Root forms an important part of its combination, it is, at the same time, compounded with other vegetable remedies of great pow er, and it is in the peculiar combination and scientific manner of its prepa ration, that its remarkable success in the cure of disc*** depends. Other preparations imitate it in the style of putting up. and bearing the name of one of its ingredi ents, and here ends their resemblance to it. Thoso not'ding a remedy and purifier like this, are requested to note where this difference exists, and in making choice of what they will use, not to take any other but that one entitled to their confidence, from the long list of cures it lias effected on living witnesses, whose testimonials and residences have been published, and who are still hairing daily testimony to its wortf*. The whole histo ry of medicine lias scarcely (iirnfshted a parallel to the numerous and remarkable cures effected by its use. and what it has effected once it can effect again. FROM KENTUCKY. I send this statement as an act of justice, believing it to be my duty to encourage the suffering portion of the human family to use Sand's Sarsaparilla, which I believe has no parallel in the catalogne of me dicine. With feelings of lasting gratitude, I remain your friend.. SAMUEL P. UARUER. Read The following from New-Orleass, Nov. 12. 1849. Messrs. Sands— Gentlemen; X take the liberty of sending you a letter which may lie of importance to those who are suffering as 1 have done. I received great benefit from your Sarsaparilla, having been cared of a malady after suffering, six years. 1 hereby cheerfully certify to the good effect ol' your medicine, and 1 hope God will reward you for all the good you have done. A chronic cough had tormented me day and night, and re peated attacks of fever induced me to believe that I should die with Consumption. One day,r hile suffering a violent attack of burning fever, a friend tersnaded me to try your incomparable medicine, but tot ill the trntli, I had no confidence in it. I finally purclia led a bottle, and by its use and the help of God, 1 was restored to better health than I had enjoyed for six years. X can not but bless the author of this admirable*medicine. With great respect, I am, gentlemen, Your obedient servant, TERMIN' GKOCTAZ. “ Truth is stranger thanfiction'' Nkw Durham, N. J„ June 30.1849. Messrs. Sands —Gentlemen: My wife suffered with a distress and burning in her chest for many years, and my daughter was afflicted from her birth with a humor >9 her Mood. We consul tod various physicians, and tried numerous remedies, without much benefit, until we heard, through Rev. Thomas Davis, of the great me dicinal value of Sands’ Sarsaparilla. On his recom mendation my wife and daughter decided on trying it, and soon experienced permanent benefit. My daughter’s skin assumed a now appearance entirely; from being rough, hard and scaly, it became smooth and soft. My wife's sufferings are almost gone, and its use a short time longer, it is my firm belief, will produce a perfect ture. Yours, with respeet, G. S. HENDRICKSON.
