The Republic says that the President has de manded an explanation of the fireing into the Steamer Prometheus, and has sent a Naval force to Graytown to protect American commerce. jin the Senate to-day, Mr. Foote introduced a resolution declaring the compromise final, which was made the order of the day for Monday next.
