Sir :—Permit a lady to express hor unbounded
thanks, for the gri.-eless benefit you have con
ferred upon the afflicted, and more especially upon
myself in your Compound, called “ Magical Pain
Eradicator.’' I trust, Sir, you will accept this vol
untary tribute as some little compensation for tho
benefit 1 hare derived from the use of your Rheu
matic Liniment. I have tried it in various affec
tions in my family, and also upon myself, all of
which have resulted beyond my most sanguine wish
es or expectations. It is, according to my humble
opinion, and exporienco, the best and most valua
ble preparation now before the pubUe, and I must
say, tbc only one I have ever known, that will
come up to what is said about it. Allow me, Sir,
again, to thank you for urging this medicine upon
me. The money which it cost is a mere secondary
consideration. Respectfully, vour obliged

Jones County, Ga., Doc., 1848.
Dr. Little —Dear Sir: It is with heart-felt grati
! tude that I inform you, your Anodyne Cough
' Drops saved a child of mine from tho gravo. He
was attacked with the pneumonia, as the doctor
who attended him a week called it, without being
able to arrest it. By this time he had become pros
trate, and from the violence of the cough and fo
| ver. was expected to dio constantly. In this situa
j tion wo discontinued all other medicine and gavo
j your Cough Drops; the first doos helped him much,
and after repeatfcig it a few times tho eough and
fever subsided, leaving him calm and tranquil for
tho first time since tho attaok. The modicine was
continued, and after twenty-four hours use, we ooh
sidcred him out of danger. From this time ho
improved rapidly, and soon reoovorod. In two
other cases in my family it proved highly beneficial
in curing coughs and colds. I have used your Ver
mifuge with a great advantage in a number of
cases.
In future, I intend keeping a supply of your Fami
ly Medicino on hand, as well as advise my friends
to the same course.
Very respectfully yours, Ac.,
(Signed.) THOMAS IV. CHOATE.

THE FIRE IN CONWAY, MASS.
WE insort with pleasure, tho following letter
from the Ccnway Tool Company. It shows
clearly that the faith of the public in Rich’s Sala
mander Safes has not been misplaced:—
Conway, Mass. July 14, 1851.
Messrs. Ross, Stearns A Co., successors to C. Rich
A Co., 146 Water street. New York:—Gentlemen—
To your inquiries respecting the fate of the Sala
mander'Safo, No. 3,381, purchased of you through
Messrs. Win. Bryce A Co., it is perhaps sufficient to
say, that I am at presont writing on paper which
was in the Safe at tho time of the destruction of our
manufactory by fire, on the morning of the 27th
inst. The Safe was on the lower floor of a three
story building, containing considerable quantities of
seasoned beach timber, and it was at a red heat
whon it fell into a bed of live hard wood coals, in
which it remained imbedded about three hours,
when it was drawn out, and, as soon as practicable,
opened. The leather bindings of the books wore
heated by the steam, and some of the loose papers
wore somewhat stained; but not a single partilo of
paper in any book was injured, and not a single
mark on any loose paper, whether made by a pen
or pencil, is defaced. Wo consider the Safo in
question as having passed through ono of the se
verest test to which it could have been put, and we
need not assure you teat we rejoice at its suoeess.
We will forward you the burnt Safe, and in the
meantime, send us another of tho same size and
pattern, for immediate uso.
Yours, respectfully. 1 - i
