tion. or other person, who shall sell, remove,
receive, or purchase, or in any way aid in

and lo forfeiture; mid that the want of tho
proper stamp or stamps upon any hogshead,
barrel, keg, oro her vessel in which ferment
ed liquor may be coutained after its sale or
removal from the brewery where the same
was made, or warehouse as afevesaid, shall
be notice to all persons that the tax has not
been paid thetven, and sludl be prima facie,
evidence of the roti-payment thereof.

every person who -hall withdraw any fer
mented liquor from any hogshead, barrel,
keg, or other vesac! upon which the proper
stamp or stamps shall not have been affixed,
for the purpose of bottling the same, or who
shall carry on. or attempt, to carry on, tho
business of bottling fermented liquor in any
brewery or other place in which fermented
liquor is made, or upon any premiseu having
communication with such brewery or am
warehouse, sliall be liable to a fine of five
hundred doilais, ami the property used in
such bottling or business shall lie liable to
forfeiture.
Sec. ft!). A"d it further an',■ta’, That
any inspector or revenue agent who shall
hereafter bmmie interested directly or in
directly. in themanufnctttte of tobacco, snuff
or cigars, and any assessor, collector, inspec
tor, or revenue agent, who shall hereafter
become interested, directly or indirectly, in
the production, by distillation, or by other
process, of spirit-;, ale, or beer, or other fer
mented liquors, shall, on conviction before
any court of the United Stales of competent
jurisdiction, pay a penalty not less than five
in the discretion of the court. And
any such officer interested aaaforesaid in any

Sec. 60. And be »< further enacted. That
every internal revenue officer, whose pav
mem. charges, salary, or compensation shall
be composed, eitlu iv wholly or in part, of
fees, commissions, allowances, or rewards,
from w hatever source derived, shall lie re
quired to render to the commissioner of in
ternal revenue, under regulations Lobe ap
proved by th-.- Secretary of tire Treasury, a
statement under oatlt setting forth the entire
amount of such fees. oommi*?kms, emtdu
mcnla or rewards of whatever nature, or
from whatever source received, during the
time for which said statement is rendered;
and any fair - stab meal knowingly and wil
fully rendered under the requirements of this
section, or regulation > established in accord
ance therewith, sliatl be deemed wilful per
jury, and punished on conviction thereof, as
provided in section forty-two of the net of
Juno thirty, eighteen hundred and sixty-four,
to which this act E an amendment; and any
neglect or omission to render such statement
when required shall be punished on convic
tion thereof by a line of no: loss than two
hundred dollars nor more than five hundred
dollars in tho discretion of tin- court.
