The new regiment ot volunteers. trom New

war on the sth inst., in three vessels char

accompanies them.
O’The area included within the present j
undisputed limits of Wisconsin, is estimated I
at about 90,000 square miles—equal to New i
York and Pennsylvania, and larger by 25.000
hqnare miles than the six New England

the territory into two IStaies, under the act j
of Congress of August 6, 18-10.

itlctliciual uses of the Wild Cherry.
Ever since the settlement of America, Wild j
Cherry has been known to possess very important
medicinal virtue, livery body knew this fact, but
nobody knew how to extract its essential proper
tie*. Every mother gives \\ iid Cherry tea to tier
children for worms, for colds, and for almost every
disease; and adults throughout our country are in .
the habit of making a compound or syrup of Wild
Cherry bark, and other ingredients, to be used in ,
spring as an antidote to complaints incident to that I
changeful season. It is found by experiment that \
the Wild Cherry possesses even far more impor
tant qualities than was ascribed lo it. For the
first stages of Consumption, Asthma, no matter
how Ion" standi a". Coughs, Liver Complaint, e.tc., |
it is proved to be the best medicine known to man.
Dr. Wistar’s Balsam of W iid Cherry is a. chemical i
extiact, combined with a similar extract from Tar,
fiich enhances its value. Its success in curing
Pulmonary disease, in almost every stage, after our ;
best physicians could do an more, has astonished .
the faculty, and led them to confess that Wistar’s
Balsam of Wild Cherry possesses a principle here- .
tofore unknown among medical men.
