The exports for Fume period have been 111,311 bales Epland and 191 Sea Island.-; leaving a stock on hand and on shipboard nut cleared, of 62,068 bales Epland and 2'isl Sea Islands, against 22,824 bales I olami and 2728 Sea Islands, at same time last year. The demand for Upland was limited at the close of our last report, fin Friday and Saturday, the sales were small at a downward tendency in j ri ces. On Sunday, news was received by me steamer Sarah Sands, at New York, from Liver pool to the 20th and Havre to the 18:h nit. The Liverpool market was represented as-being dull, in consequence of the depression in ihe manufac turing districts, u it h the high price of bread stuffs, and the increasing value of money, and prices had declined about j-tl per lb. The Havre market was also dull and delining. These accounts had the effect to suspend all business on Monday, and sim e that time the market lias been very unsettled with but little demand. 'The few sales effected have been generally at a decline of ic per lb. 1: is im possible to give accurate quotations, though the prices paid yesterday were about lUc per lb for or dinary, 101 a 101 for middling, 1 i for middling fair, and 104 a 11c for fair to lolly fair in square bales. Round bales are about fc per lb. cheaper. The sales of the week amount to 3333 bales, as follows: 12 at 10; 128 at l(R;3s2at 104; IbOatlCß; 328 at 1 Os; 1020 at 10J: 520 at 1 I; 123 at Hi; 188 n r Hi; 192 at lit; 291 at H 4; 50 at Hi; ajul 43 bales at 11 |c per lb. Groceries. —There has been a fair business done in Groceries during the week at advanced prices. One cargo Cuba, .Molasses, consisting of 256 hhds. and 29 tierces was disposed of at 22 cents per gal lon —20 hhds, Nevv-Orleans Sugar brought 84 to Hi cents per pound. Sales of prime Rio Coffee, from store, in lots,at Hi to 84 cents per pound. Flour —Holders have advanced their rales for Flour. Sales small. .V lot of Baltimore was dis posed of before the steamer’s news at $6,874 per bbl. cash. Since the news we only bear of sales of 17 bills. Georgia at $7,25 per bbl., and 43 sacks of lUU pounds each, at fc3i per sack. Corn. —There has "been a further advance in Corn during the week. and it may now be quoted at 95 cents per bushel the cargo. Retails from store at 106| cents per bushel. The only sales we hear of since ourlast, are one box containing be tween 2.000 and 3,000 bushels Beach Island at $1 per bushel—a lot of 100 bushels at Hi —20J at 96 cents per bushel, and another of 450 bushels at same price. Huron and Lard —Sales light, 5000 ih.s. Mams brought 9e —3,000 lbs. Sides Hi, and a lot of Shoulders 64 cents per pound. A lot ofBJ kegs Lard was sold at 8i cents per pound. Salt. — No cargo sales to report. Retails from stole at 95c. to $1 per sack. Huy. —A further advance has taken place in Hay. A hit of Kit) bales Northern, inferior quali ty brought 70 to 75 cents per 100 lbs. Small lots Eastern have been disposed of $1 I2i per 100 lbs. Retails at 51,25. Stocks light. CHARLESTON, FEB. 20.—Cotton.—We represented the Upland market at the time of closing onr repot tof the 13th inst., as being in a very unsettled state, at the reduction of « to L - . in prices, which it will be recollected hail taken place on the preceding day. since that lime, how ever, unfavorable accounts have reached us from the other side, per the Sarah Sands, winch, ta ken in connection with the great want of ship ping facilities, and the heavy advance in the rate of freight, have not only prostrated, but seem to have completely paralyzed the Cotton market during the week just brought to a close. The telegraphic accounts by the steamer noticed above came to hand on Saturday last, and contrary to general expectations, prices in the Liverpool market had receded Id., which produced a cor responding effect here, and between 7 and 800 ba.es were sold on that day at reduced limits.— On Monday, nothing comparatively was done, as a greater concession was demanded, fin Tuesday holders yielded, and near 1000 bales were bought at lower rates; butso unsettled were prices, that, as stated in ourscmi-weekly report, it was impi'ssible to arrive at llie actual decline; suffice it to say, that at the time Liverpool fair was stated to have brought 11 all j c. Daring the last three days there has been very little ac tual demand for the article, but purchasers have in most instances been induced to operate, owing to the advantageous terms offered bv holders, arid prices have from time to time receded, until Liverpool tair at the close of the week was sold at lOjc. Vv e would nut under existing circum stances undertake to give quotations, but prices may be quoted a l;c. down from the highest point; and it is useless to disguise the fact, unless we shortly receive an accession ot vessels circum stances may force prices even lower. Sales have occasionally been made since our last, on terms which have not been made public, but Ihe trans actions as tar as reported to us cover 4500 bales, against the receipt in the same time of 11,380 bales. Grain. —The receipts of Corn during the week comprise some 6500 bushels from North Caro lina, which wore taken hv dealers at advanced rates, Ihe s dc-s arc 3300 bushels at prices rang ing from 95 to 100 c.; and as high as IOG pet bushel lor a prime parcel. There have been nc arrivals of cither Uuls or Peas, nor has any Hay been received since our last, and present quota tions must be considered nominal. Salt. —'There is no Liverpool sack afloat, and the supply on sale is very light, in consequence of which prices have an upward tendency. Small parcels have been sold from store during the week at prices ranging from 1 18 to J 25 per sack About 6100 bushels i'uiks island have been re ceived since our last, which we understand were so! 1 at 28c, per bushel. Bacon.— i .i • market has been quiet during the week. The sub's have been confined principal!v i to old and new Sides, from 8A to oc. per lb. Lird. —The transactions have been limited t, about 200 kegs new Western at 9[ a 9[c. Sugars. — %V c have no transactions to report in Louisiana. About 103 hhds ot this description arrived at the close of the week, but was not land ed at the time we closed our inquiries. There is very little in first hands, and this receipt will no doubt bring good prices. The transactions n Muscovados have b< en confined principally to the sale at auction of 77 hhds., which went off at j pi ices ranging from 8 7-16 to 9jc. JJjlasses. —The market has been quiet during : the week, but prices of’Cuba and New Orleans i have an upward tendency. The receipts are 124 hhds. of the former, a portion ofwhich has been i disposed ofat 2i a 25c.
