Dll, CHRISTIE'S GALVANIC RINGS AND magnetic fluid. f nIMIS remarkable uiventiou, which has received the B aliu<'»l uuivcrsal apiMobaliell ol the medical pro f«**ion of Grei.t Britain, comprises an entirely new ap plication of Galvanism, as a remedial apeui. by means ot which the ordinary Galvanic Da tene*. Llectnc anti Mag netic Muckin ■*, Ac., are emirely dispensed w itb, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied nithout any of the objections which are mseperabio Irom the t e..e- j ral m<>de now in use. The strong doses, and at inegu kir intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the .la ehins#, has be n pronounced, at era lair and impaitial Inal, to be decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy this radical detect, that this new application was pro jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, lias been brought to its pre*ent state ot perfection. Ihe Galvanic Kivos answer all the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in muiy other respects arc 1 more sxrt and certain in accomplishing the desired effect. . , , The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, a e confidently recommended in all D SORTERS WHICH ARISE ¥ROM AN INtEEBLEU OK IN- | HEATH I' STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, Hlld these complaints are among the most painful nnd uni- : versa! to which we are subject. They arise, withontex- | eeptiou, from one simple cause—a derangement ol me j Nervous system—and it was in these cases that other “remedies” having >o often failed, a newsagent was , greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, lias ; been found in the proper aud judicio us application 01 | Galvanism. ... .• The G vlvanic Rings have been used with entircouc • essin all Cases of Rheumatism, m ute or chronic, ap p'y; ng to the head, face or limbs • ••out, J ic-Dolokklx , Toothache. Bronchitis. Vertigo, .jer...ls or Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses Palsy Epilepsy, . Fits Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appopi.exy , 1 *ti»»nes* r Joints. Spinal Complaints, Lumbago, Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the Heap Pains in the Chest and Side. General Dehili rr Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, a nd ali. Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of ».He digestive organs, they have been found equally suc- R-issfut. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed ro be believed, and as a certain pre- j vrNtive for the preceding complaints they are equal- 1 lv recommended. The Rings are of different prices, j being made of all sizes, and of various 01 uamouial pat- i terns, and can be worn by the niOPtdelicale female wit hout j the slightest inconvenience. In fact the seasiitiou is rather agreeable than othariv ise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, Ac. In iomecases of a very severe character and of long ■ Landing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Kings is not sufficient to arre.-tthe progress of disease and uiii niaielv to restore health. The improved modification in the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &.c., entirely m.ne dies this objection ; any degree of power that is required can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the ! mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail lobe permanently relieved. Tin sc articles are adapted to the waist, arms, w rists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihc body with perfect convenience. Ihe Galvanic Necklaces are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally ; also in cases of Ner vous Deafness; and with almost uniform sucrc-s as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, aud similar complaints. Christie’s 3lagnelic Fluid. Is issued in connection w itii the Galvanic Rings, and all their modifications. This composition has been pro nounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be- . 1 icvod to possess a remarkable power of kenoekiiig the Nerves sliisitive toGalvaiiic actioii, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seal of dis ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No olhcrcoinposition in chemistry is known to produce the (ante effector to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. The Machetic Fluid containsnothingrapaide of ihc slight ed injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless in itsaction as it is benefit ial in its result. Full explana tions and directions accompany it. The combined in- | ventionsare i:i every way perfectly harmless; they are et price* within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quest* a fair trial, as a lost of their surprising efficacy and permanent benefit. Christie's Galvanic Strengthening Plas ters. These articles form another valuable application of the nivsienous iuflue.ice of Galvanism. They are an important adjoin t to the genuine Galvauic Riucsand their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but j L iving this advantage of more local applica fi n. They ■re confidently recommended as a valuable cddii onin the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in ait nervous complain Is, and as a positive remedy in cases of I’aiu and Weak-.esS i the Che-t or Back, Fain in the Bide, in A-ttimi ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op pression of the Pulmonary Organs, in Spinal Com plaints; their effects are of tile most decided character, and they have often been used w ith complet 1 success. Tbev are also of lfie greatest advantage in Pains anil Wjakness of the Breast, and arc highly recommended for many of those complaints 10 which females aie especially liable. As an effectual means for strengthen ing the system when debilitated with disea.-e or other causes ; as a cei tain aid in Constitutional Weak ness, as a Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest generally the Galvanic Strengt ening Fluster wili be found of great and pcrmaneniadvantage. In a few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Gaivimic influence, j wh ch is neither impaired or exhausted, vvlnlellie action continues. Thee unit ies w ill be found entirely free from those objections w hich arc a cousta.tsou.--cc of com plaint withtlie ordinary Plastersin common use. 'BAHESE BITTERS are purely a vegetable H. compound, ami are offered to the pub lic from a principle of benevolence, under the full cut conviction that they will be found a sale aud sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia. They have been triumphantly tested not only by some of the most respectable families in the Btate. v\ ho have furnish ed ample testimony as to their decided excellence, but also by the proprietor, who. for ten years, suf fered all the gloom incident to that distressing dis ease. They possess the peculiar excellence denied la most other Bitters, of not proving injurious by rontinued use. They contain not a single delete rious ingredient, and, as seen from the directions which accompany each bottle, may be given with entire safety to an infant in the month If the Colleton is taken regularly and persever ingly,( which is highly important in stubborn cases,) they will, soon alter ihe use of a few bottles, be found to act on the system like a charm—imparting vigor to tlie stomach, bracing the nerves, cleans ing the liver, promoting digestion, increasing the appetite, strengthening The chest and voice, reliev ing pains, cramps, and stitches in the breast. They are also raostexcellent forcholeramorbus, habitual constipation,sea-sickness,nausea, proceeding from whatever cause. In ( uses of general debility, it has proved one of the best remedies, and is there fore highly recommended to elderly people, literary gentlemen, students, and others of sedentary habits. Taken in small doses frequently through the day, tliey have checked the most violent diarrhoea, and likewise been administered with the happiesteflect n cholerainiauturn. In all the foregoing complaints, these Bitters will he found effectual if persisted in, and taken accord ing to the directions which accompany each bottle. And although it has been testified by several that they are excellent in many others, yet in none other than those above enumerated, is the proprietor w ill ing to vouch for their efficacy. They were prima rily and solely intended to cure Dyspepsia. The Colleton Bitters have been eight years be fore the public; and in consequence of ihe increas ing demand for this valuable menu ine, the proprie tor has entered largely into the business—bottles are procured having “Colleton Bitters” moulded in them—they are also numbered, sealed and slump ed with an appropriate motto Brice $ I per bottle. E. M. CAREY, General Agent for this State. J. E. MARSHALL. Agent, Augusta. Hilton Head, S. C., Jan. 1346. Os the Colleton Bitters—‘V purely a Vegetable Compound” and which, from the confidence 1 have In the characlerand integrity of ihe makerand pro prietor thereof, I verily believe to be true,) 1 en tertain the most favorable opinion. Several ofmy personal friends and acquaintances, long afflicted with Dyspepsia, have assured me that they have found these Bitters better than any other medicine they ever tried, for that distressing disease. And I take the pleasure further to state that I have wit nessed the excellency of these Bitters, in nausia, eick-headache, and bowel complaint; in this Zest particular, I have seen the Colleton repeatedly and successfully tested among the children of ray own house-hold. No family ought to be without this in valuable medicine. REV. A. WOODWARD, Pastor of St. Lukes Church, S. C. april 20 133 SVRGICAK. AMD DENTAL INSTKC MEMB, DENTIST’S TOIL, TEETH, Ac. JAYNE’S ALTERATIVE. ra’iIIIS valuable preparation combines all the -E medicinal virtues of those articles, which long experience has proved to possess the most safe I and efficient alterative and deobstruent properties, j forthe cure of Scrofula King's Evil, White Swell i ings Ulcers; Scrofulous, Cancerous and Indolent \ Tumours; Mercurial and Syphilitic Affections, ' Rheumatism. (lout, Scarvey, A turnip in or Tic -1 Douiou-eux. Cancer, (ioitreor Bronchocele, 'swelled ! Keck,] Enlargements of the Bones. Joints. Clauds ' or Ligaments or “ft he Ovanes. Liver, Spleen, Kid ; neys. d'c. All the diseases of ihe Skin, such as Tetter, Ringworm. Biles, Pimples. Carbuncles fyc., | Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. Nervous Diseases, \ Dropsical Swellings, Constitutional Disorders and J diseases origiuaiiug from a depraved or Impure stale of the Blood or other fluids of the body, j The proprietor of this Alterative would mi st re ! spedWully assure ilie public that he has not offered > this preparation to their notice without due relDc j tion, and close and rigid study, nor until after i | twelve years’experience had manifested its great ! ; superiority over every other article of the kind.— i j and he now recommends it with confidence, fully ! ■ believing that ihe above combination of medicine I ! will effectually eradicate from (lie system a class | of disease some of which have heretofore been con | sidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of I disease and with unparalleled success, especially j iu cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and ' scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from obstruction or enlargement of the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards oftwen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu i mors, and in every case but one with perfect and J entire success. Bronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it iu over a hundred cases of ! goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance j j to completely remove the ciseuse. Not a solitary | case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho | cele and cancerous affections has convinced him ; that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be j removed with as much certainty as Fever and : Ague. He does not w ish to be understood as say ing that tliey can be cured as soon as Fever and j Ague, but with as much certainly; and further, that ! be has good reason fur believing that this prepara : lion will not only < ure these diseases when formed, i but that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle I lurking in the sy-tem. from vvbii h that peculiar class of diseases, as -.veil as that of scrofula emanate. Scrofula— King's Evil. This preparation lias been used in numerous cases ofScrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the m isl deci ed success. Skin Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety ofeutane i ous affections, and found it successful iacuringsalt i rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, morplievv and jaundiced skin, Ac. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases of liver com plaint and Dyspepsia, and vv ith the happiest effect. Tic-Douloureuz. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, 1 and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great i many cases of chronic rbeumaism, and in every i casein which it was used until ihe system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed , (.out. A number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one ol these cases, the man i had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen j I years as to entirely di-able him from business, and i j fur live months immediately previous to Ids taking 1 ; the Alterative lie had been confined to bis room; j i but before be had finished the third bul’le, be was j j enabled to walkabout 1 Ik* streets and soon after re- | 1 turned to bis business, from which lie lead to long been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and till unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts ! tone and vitality to the whole system, removing j ! sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wardering 1 1 pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has | been taken for some lime, no matter tor wh t pur- j ! pose, the general health of the patient has uiwavs been improved oy it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some i of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can- | ' cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured hy j this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but want of room in lliis sheet precludes their publica- ; 1 tion at this time. CANCER. ; An interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative, j lii the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear- j : ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wile of Peter j Stretch, of Salem, N.J. It was examined by many j I Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of j one. All probable means of removing il were toed j : without ihe slightest benefit. Jt continued i<> in- I j crease both in size and painfulness, until all hope | of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was i | abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent 1 : Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. ; John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the i j proprietor, and two other medical gent'emen. The j whole and entire right breast was renro*'“d, am! af ter examination ol I lie tumor, was pioaouiced by I all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. Iu about three months, after end tiring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. £he remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as iu- I deed it had been for several years belore. In the I spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her hi east had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap j pearance on the right side, immediately over the I part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right 1 breast, prev ions to its removal. 'I bis tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un derthe right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and I a Lard, irregular, and at limes painful tumour, ap- j : pea red in the left breast. No operation could now j arrest tbedisease. Indeed her whole body appear- ; ed to be a rna>s of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless., Bhe was of a very scrofulous habit, i both her parents having died of Pulmonary con -1 sumption. The experiment was now made with i this Alterative. It was at lirA given in smull i j doses, three times a day, and ihe doses v ery gradu- 1 ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she , t >ok it, vv hicii was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night aud morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumourswdied out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige <ff 1 disease was removed. The tumour in her left ; breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours appeared afterwards; and her general health, vv Inch had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effec ually and permanently restored. 'l’iie proprietor is iu possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He , would also say that he could mention over a dozen j cases equally interesting, wherem his Alterative . has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he | has not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., | had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, a- large as the halt of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative lor <ibout lour months. Mise R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old, aud continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer per sons to her. ’ lor sale by VVM. K. KITCHEN, eep 23 ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. _ SHERIFF’S SALES.
