urn ) jj7 c 7 lß i.stii;>,s i GALVANIC KINGS AND MAGNETIC FLUID. THIS remarkable invention, which ha* received the almost universalapprobation of the medical pro fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap plication of Galvanism, aw a remedial agent. l»v weans of which the ordinary Galvanic Batteries, Electric and - la ?" j B«tic Machines,&c.,are oniircly dispensed with, and the Mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any •f the objections which are msepcrable from the gene- ■ lal mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregn- , kr intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma- ; chines, has be* n pronounced, at cr a lair and impartial trial tobe decidedly injurious, and it was to remedy | this radical defect, that this new application was pro- . lected which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has teen brought to its present state of perfection. The 1 Galvanic Kings aiivwcr ail the purposes of the most expensive Machines, and in in my oilier respects are more safe and certain iu uccoiupiitfiiitig the desired •ffcCl- r, , . . , The Galvanic Rings, used in connection witn the Masnewc Fluid, aie confidently recommended in am. p SORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN •CATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, and these c-craplaint* are among the most painful and uni versal to which we are subject. They ari*e. withoutex eeptron, from one simple cause—a derangement of the Nervous system—-and it was in these caves that ether ** renredies” having so often failed, a new agent was , freatly needed, which it is confidently believed, lias been found in the proper and judicious application of 1 Galvanism. , The GalvaStc Rings have been used with entiresue- ■ •«.s in all case, of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap ply i tig tothe head, face or limbs: Gout, Tic-Dolorf.ux Toothache. Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or Sick. Headache, Indigestion, Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy, ! Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexy, i Stiffness ■ r Joints. Spinal Complaints, Kombaco, j He uralcia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the 1 Head. Pains in the Chest andSidf.. General Debili ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, an 6 all Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of »ho digestive organs, they have been found equally suc cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must b« witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pre ventive for the preceding complaints they are equal ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices, feeing nude of all six*s,and of various ornamental pat (erns.and ran be worn by the most delicate female without the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is Father agreeable than otbarwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, &c. In tome cases of a very severe character and of long standing, the power as applied by the Galvanic Ring* is not sulltcient to arre-t th“ progres* of disease and ulii- j Mutely to restore health. The improved modification in the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme dies tills objection ; any degree of power that is required can readily be obtained, and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail to be permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any' pan of ilic ho ly with perfect convenience.. The Galvanic Necklaces ; ars used with creator benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally; also in cases of Ner vous Deafness; and with almost uniform sucee-s as a i preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar j complaints. Christie’s Magnetic Fluid. Is issued in connection w ith the Galvanic Kings sr.d all their modifications. This composition has been pro nounced by the French Chemists to bo one of the most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be lieved to possess a remarkable power of renderihg the Nerves sciisitive to Galvauic actioii, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No other composition iu chemistry is known to produce the came effector to impart a similar property to the nervous cystcm by means of an outward local application. The Magiietic Fluid contains nothingcapable of the slit'bl est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless In i t.«action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana- j tions and directions accompany it. The combined in ventions are in every way'perfectly harmless; they are at prices within roach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a test of their surprising efficacy and permanent benefit. Christie’s Galvanic Strengthening Plas- | lets. These articles form another valuable application of j •he mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an | important adjunct to the genuine Galvaric limes and i their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but fe iving this advantage of more local application. They ‘ ■re confidently recommended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in •II nervous complaints, and us a positive remedy' in cases •f I’ain and Weakness i the Chc-t or Back, Pain in the Side, in Astlim Lie Affections, and m Weakness or Op pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com plaints; their effects are of the most decided character, mid they have often been used with complete success. Tliev are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which lemales are •specially liable. As an effectual means for strengtiiea ing the system when debilitated with disease or other causes; as a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, ns a Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest generally the Galvanic Sitreirgt euing Plaster will be found of great and permaneniadvantagc. THESE BITTERS are purely a vegetable compound, and are offered to the pub lic from a principle of benevolence, under the full •st conviction that they will be found a safe and sovereign remedy for Dyspepsia. They have been \ triumphantly tested not only by some of the mo.-t respectable families in the State, w ho have furnish ed ample testimony as to their decided excellence, i but also by the proprietor, who, for lea years, suf fered all ilie gloom incident to that distressing dis ease. They possess the peculiar excellence denied lo most other Bitters, of not proving injurious by continued use. They contain not a single delete rious ingredient, and, as seen from the directions which accompany each bottle, may be given with •mire safety to an infant in the month If the Colleton is taken regularly and persever lngly,( which is highly important in stubborn cases,) they will, soon after the use of a few bottles, be found to act on the system like a charm—imparting vigor to the stomach, bracing the nerves, cleans ing the liver, promoting digestion, increasing ihe appetite, strengthening the chest and voice, reliev ing pains, cramps, and stitches in the breast. 'They are also mostescellent forcholera morbus, habitual constipalion.sea-sickness,nausea, proceeding from whatever cause. In cases of general debility, it has proved one of the best remedies, and is there fore highly recommended to elderly people, literary gentlemen, students, and others of sedentary habits. Taken in small doses frequently through the day, they have checked the most violent diarrhoea, and likewise been administered with the happiest effect n cholera infantum. In all the foregoing complaints, these Bitters will found effectual if persisted iu,and taken accord ing to the directions which accompany each bottle. And although it has been testilied by several that they are excellent in many others, yet in none other than those above enumerated, is the proprietor will jng to vouch for their efficacy. They werepnma- ! lily and solely intended to cure Dyspepsia. The Colleton Bitters have been eight years be fore the public; and in consequence of the increas ing demand for this valuable meou-ine, the proprie tor ha« entered largely into the business—bottles are procured having “Colleton Bitters” moulded in them—they are also numbered, sealed and stump ad with an appropriate motto Priee. $• per buttle. Several of my personal friends ami acquaintances, long afflicted with Dyspepsia, have assured me dial they have found these Bitters boiler than any other medicine they ever tried, for that distressing disease. And I Cake the pleasure further to state that I have wit netted the excellency of these Bitters, in nausia, •ick-headache, and bow**l complaint; in this lost particular, I have seen the Colleton repeatedly and •uec«rafally tested among the children of ray own house-hold. The proprietor of this Alterative would most re spectfully assure the public that he lias not offered this preparation to their notice without due reflec tion, and close and rigid study, nor until after | twelve years’ experience had manifested its great j superiority over every other article of the kind, — ) and he now recommends it with confidence, fully ! believing that the above combination of medicine j will effectually eradicate, from the system a class ; of disease some of which have heretofore been con -1 sidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety of I disease and with unparalleled success, especially j in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from I obstruction or enlargementuf the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. lie has used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, and in every case but one with perfect and entire success. Bronchoceie or Goitre. (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of ?oitre, and it has never failed in a single instance lo completely remove the disease. Aut a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncho ceie and cancerous affections lias convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may tee removed with as much certainty as Fever and Ague. He does not w ish to he understood as say ing that they can be cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as much certainly; and further, that he has good reason fur believing that this prepara tion will not only < nre these diseases when formed, i hut that it destroys the virus or poisonous principle j lurking in the system, from which that peculiar j class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate. Scrofula—King’s Kvil. I This preparation has been used in numerous rases ; ofScrofula, King’s Evil v and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci ed success. Skin Diseases. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism* This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheutnahm, and in every case in which it was used until the system became | affected by the medicine, the disease was removed Gout. A. number of cases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one ol these cases, the man j had been afflicted with it so severely for thirteen | years as to entirely disable him from business, anti I for five months immediately previous to his taking , the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, lu* was enabled to walkabout the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which he had so long been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and all unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering painsan-d nervous affections. j In fact, in every case w here the medicine has j been taken for some time, no matter for w h l pur- i pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, tbc proprietor would say that some of thn most astonishing ca.-es of skin distases, can cer. bronchoceie, and scrofula, have been cured r»y this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this lime. CANCER. An Interesting case cured by Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor .appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wile, of Peter Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, ami besides bore ail the characteristic marks of one. All provable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit, it continued to iu- I crease both in size and painfuluess, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed. Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two ot her medical gentlemen. The w hole and entire rigid breast was rerao w ed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three mouths, aftereodiiting incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to gel about again, remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spriugof 1837, upwards of live years after iier bt east had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous toils removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as lo deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and setrrhus, and a hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole bodyappear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless, tsbe was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment w’as now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumour swelled out at the base, ami became soft and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which had been so bad for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen rases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancerand cancerous tumours, but he has not room hereto record them. M re. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., i had a goitrous tumour on the left side us her wind pipe, a> large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative fur about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of tier neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. Jt commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to in crease until she was nineteen, at which time she I commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer per sons to her. For sale by WM. K.
