COLLETON BITTEKS. I FOR DYSPEPTICS. If the Colleton is taken regularly and persever ingly,( which is highly important in stubborn cases.) they will, soon after the use of a few bottles, be found to act on the system like a eharm —imparting vigor to the stomach, bracing the nerves, cleans ing the liver, promoting digestion, increasing the appetite, strengthening the chest and voice, reliev ing pains, cramps, and stitches in the breast, i hey are also moslexcelient for cholera morbus, habitual const i pat ion, sea-sick ness, nausea, proceed inglrom whatever cause. Os the Colleton Bitters— I “f purely a Vegetable Compound ” and which, frojn the confidence i have in the character and integrity of the maker and pro prietor thereof, I verily believe to be true,) I en tertain the most favorable opinion. Several of my personal friends and acquaintances, long afflicted with Dyspepsia, have assured me that they liav e found these Bitters better than any other medicine they ever tried, for that distressing disease. And I take the pleasure further to state that I have wit nessed the excellency of these Bitters, in nausia, ■ ick-headache, «nd bowel complaint; in this/as/ particular. I have seen tlie Colleton repeatedly and successfully tested among the children of my own house-hold. No family ought to be without this in valuable medicine. REV. A. WOODWARD. Pastor of St. Luke« Church, S C. april *29 133 Uli. tailllSTlLN GALVANIC 11INGS AND MAGNETIC ELT ID. TNHIS reitmrkaltle invention, which lias received the . almost universal approbation of the medical pro fei -ion of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap- : plication of Galvanism, as a rented!at agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Baiteries, Electric and Mag- j attic Machines,&.c.,i*re entirely dispensed with, and the i mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any | •f the objections which are insuperable from the cene- j r«l mods now in u-e. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Mi | •bines, has been pronounced, af.er a fair and impartial j trial, tobe decidedly injurious, and it was in remedy I this radical defect, that this new application was pro- j jected, which after unceasing toil and perseverance, has been brought to its present state of perfection. The Galvanic Rings answer at! the purposes of the most ■ expensive Machines, and in many other respects are more sate and certain hi accomplishing the desired effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection wjth the Magnetic Ft.lid. are confidently recommended in all tAORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN- | HEATHY STATE OF THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM, and I thus* complaints arc among the most painful and uni- i versa) to which we are subject. They arise, without ex ception, from one simple cause— a derangement of the I Nervous system —and it was in these cases that other j “ remedies” having so often failed, a new agent was ; greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has I been found in the proper and judicious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been Used with entire.suc cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap plying to the head, face or limbs : Govt Tic-tioLOREU-X Toothache, Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or these Headache, Indigestion. Paralyses. Palsy, Epilepsy, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoplexy, Btiefn ess cF Joints. Spinal Complaints, Kpmbago, 1 Neuralgia, Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the Head, Pains in the Curst andSidk. General Hfrili ty. Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and ali. Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia, which is simply a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally suc cessful. Their extraordinary etfecis upon the system must be witnessed so be believed, and as a certain pre ventive, for the preceding complaints they are equal ly recommended. The Kings are of different prices, being mode of all sizes, and of various ornamental pat terns, and can be worn by the mostdelicate female without the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is rather agreeable than otherwise. The Galvanic Belts, Bracelets, Bands, Garters, Necklaces, Arc. la some cases of a very severe character and of long standing, the power as applied bj- the Galvanic Rings I* not sufficient to arrestthe progress of disease and ulii matelv to restore health. The improved modification in the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets, &c., entirely reme dies thisobjection ; anydegree of power that is required «an readily be obtained, and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can effect will fail lo be permanently relieved. These articles are adapted to the waist, arms, wrists, limbs, ancles or any part of ihe body with perfect convenience. The Galvanic Necklaces •re used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis or affections of the throat generally; al>o in eases of Ner vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints, Christie’s Magnetic Fluid. ts issued in connection with th« Galvanic Rings, and nil their modifications. This composition has been pro nounced by the French Chemists to be one of the most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be lieved to possess a remarkable pow er of rknderiiig the Nerves sehsitive to Galvaiiic actioii, by these means causing a circulation of the influence at the seat of dis ease, and thus giving rapid and permanent relief. No other composition in chemistry is known to produce the •line effect or to impart a similar property to the nervous system by means of an outward local application. The Magnetic Fluid containsnotUimrcapai.le of the slight est injury, its application is agreeable, and it is harmless in its action as it is beneficial in its result. F nil explana tions and directions accompany it. The combined in vention* are in every way perfectly harmless; they arc at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a lest of their surprising efficacy and permanent benefit. Christie's Galvanic Strengthening Pla,*A ters. These articles form another valuable application of the mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an important adjunct to the genuine Galvaiiic Rincsaml their modifications, acting upon the «ame principle, but having this advantage of more local application. They •re confidently recommended as a valuable addition in the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in •ail nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy in cases I • f Fain and Weakness i i the Chest or Back. Pain in the Side, in Asthma ic Affections, and in Weakness or Op pression of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com plaint*; their effects are of the most decided character, •nd they have often tjeen used • ith complete success. They are also of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, and are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are •specially liable. As an effectual means for Mrengtlien- Jng the system when debilitated with disease or other cause*; us a certain aid in Constitutional Weakness, as a Preventive for Colds and in all affections of the Chest generally the Galvanic Strengthening Plaster wili be found of great and permaneniadvantage. fna few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with the important addition of the Galvunic influence, wh'eh is neither impaired or exhausted, while the action continues. These articles will be found entirely free from those objections which are a constantsoiirceofcom plaint with the ordinary Plasters in common use. iRFTho great celebrity and success of these articles, nave caused them to be counterfeited by unprincipled persons. ALTERATIVE.' rsnillS valuable preparation combines all the Jl medtcinal virtues of those articles, which long experience has proved to possess the most safe and efficient alterati ve and deobstruent properties, for the cure of Scrofula Ling'c Evil, \\ hi /<? >S wt 11- in its Ulcers: Scrofulous, Cancerous and Indolent Tumours; Mercurial and Syphilitic Affections, Rheumatism , Gout t Scurvey, N tuxalgia or I ic- Doulou-eu-r, Cancer, Goitre or Bronchocele, [swelled Neck.] Enlargements of the Bunts, Joints, Glands or Ligaments or of the Gearies, Liver. Ringworm, Biles, Pimples, Carbuncles *Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint, Nervous Diseases, Dropsical Swellings, Constitutional Disorders and diseases originating from a depraved or Impure state of the Blood or other fluids of the body. The proprietor of this Alterative would most re spectfully assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice without due reflec tion. and close and rigid study, nor until after twelve years’ experience had manifested its great superiority over every other article of the kind.— and he now recommends it with confidence, fully believing that the above combination of medicine will effectually eradicate from the system a class of disease some of which have heretofore been con sidered incurable. lie has prescribed it in almost every variety of disease and with unparalleled success, especially in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from obstruction or enlargement of'the glands or impari ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. He has used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, and to every case but one with perfect and entire success. Bronchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Necks) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success he has met with in curing broncoo ed e and cancerous affections has convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainty as lever and Ague. He does not wish to be understood as say ing that they can he cured as soon as Fever and Ague, but with as moch-oorlainty; and further, that he has good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only < ure these diseases w hen formed, hut that it destroys the \ irus or poisonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that cfscrofuia emanate. Scrofula—King’s Evil. This preparation has been used in numerous cases of Scrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always w ith the most deci led success. Skm Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum, or tetter, biles, blotches, pimples, raurphew ami jaundiced skin, Arc.. Dyspepsia anti Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases of liver com • plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. Tic* Dmilourcnz. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, and In every case it*was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rheumaism, and in every casein which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease wa* removed* Gout. A number of cases cf gout have been cured by i this preparation. In one ol these cases, the man had been afflicted w ith it *o severely for thirteen | years as to entirely disable him from business, and i for five months immediately previous to his taking j the Alterative he had been confined tn his room; but before he had finished the third bottle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re ■ turned to his business, from which he had »o Jong been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings, This medicine increases the pow ers digestion, j excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, and nil j unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts i tone and vitality to the whole system, removing sick and morbid headaches, giddiness, wandering i pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine ha* been taken for some lime, no matter for wh. t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of the most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; hut want of room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this lime. CANCER. An interesting case cureil by Jayne's AHeratwe. In the spring of 1831, a cancerous tumor appear ed in the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem. N. J. It was examined hy many Physic ians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore all the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it were used without the slightest benefit. It continued to in crease both in size and pain fulness, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation of eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1832, by Dr. John Rhea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of tlie tumor, was pronounced by all present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, afterendnring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in spirit, to get about again. lie remained feeble, and her general health was exceedingly had, as in deed it had been for several years before. In the spring of 1837, upwards of five years after her breast had been removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearance on the right side, immediately over the part formerly occupied by the nipple of the right breast, previous to its removal. This tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became so painful as to deprived her of rest. The glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and scirrhus, and a hard, irregular, ami at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her whole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. Bhe was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of Pulmonary con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterative. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, hut steadily increased daily, as long as she took it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, ami the tumour swelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in h?r left breast, and those in her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and hergeueral health, which hail been so had for fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually ami permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the, diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen cases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancerand cancerous tumours, but he has not room here to record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge, N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her wind pipe, a> large as the half of an orange, which was curet! by using this Alterative fur about four months. Miss R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured of an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire space between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to in crease until site was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which stie took for seven months, w hich entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty togive her name in print, but will refer per sons to her. For sale by WM, K. KITCHEN, »ep 28 • ly 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. CITATIONS, GEORGIA, Scriven county.
