KiM P r.rys, 4 All the diseases of the Skin, such as Titter. Hina worm. Biles. Pimples. Carbuncles <Vy., Dyspepsia anil Liver Complaint. Nervous Discuses, Dropsical Swellings, Constitutional Disorde rs and diseases originating from a depraved or Impure btate of the Blood or other fluids of the body. 'Hie proprietor of ibis Alterative would most re spectfully assure the public that he has not offered this preparation to their notice without due reflec tion, and close and rigid study, nor until after twelve years’ experience had manifested its great superiority over every other article of the kind,— and he now recommends it with confidence, fully believing that the above combination of medicine will effectually eradicate from the system a class us disease some of which have heretofore been con* eidered incurable. He has prescribed it in almost every variety' of disease and with unparalleled success, especially in cutaneous affections, cancerous, scrofulous and scorbutic diseases, and diseases originating from obstruction or enlargement of the glands or impuri ty of the blood. Cancer and Cancerous Tumors. He ha? used this preparation in upwards of twen ty well defined cases of cancer and cancerous tu mors, and in every case but one with perfect and entire success. lirouchocele or Goitre, (Swelled Neck.) He has prescribed it in over a hundred cases of goitre, and it has never failed in a single instance to completely remove the disease. .Not a solitary case of failure. All were cured. The success he has im-l with in curing bronc ho* cele and cancerous atlections lias convinced him that these dangerous and horrible diseases may be removed with as much certainty as Fever and Ague. lie does not w ish to he understood as say ing that they can lie cured a.* scum as Fever and Ague, hut with as much certainty; and further, that he lias good reason for believing that this prepara tion will not only « ure these diseases w hen formed, but that it destroys the \ inis or p dsonous principle lurking in the system, from which that peculiar class of diseases, as well as that of scrofula emanate. Scrofula —King’s Evil. This preparation lias been used in numerous cases ofScrofula, King’s Evil, and scrofulous swellings, and always with the most deci ed success. Mviu Diseases. He has prescribed it in a great variety of cutane ous affections, and found it successful in curing salt rheum, or tetter. Idles, blotches, pimples, murphew and jaundiced skin, Are. Dyspepsia and Liver Complaint. It has been used in numerous cases officer com plaint and Dyspepsia, and with the happiest effect. Tic-Douloureuz. It has been used in several cases of Neuralgia, j and in every case it was successful. Rheumatism. This preparation has been prescribed in a great many cases of chronic rhemnaism, and in every casein which it was used until the system became affected by the medicine, the disease was removed 1 Gout. A number of rases of gout have been cured by this preparation. In one of these cases, the man had been afflicted with it sn severely for thirteen years as to entirely disable him from business, and for five months immediately previous to Ins taking the Alterative he had been confined to his room; but before he had finished the third buttle, he was enabled to walk about the streets and soon after re turned to his business, from which lie had so long been excluded by his afflictions. Dropsical Swellings. This medicine increases the powers of digestion, excites the absorbents into healthy exercise, by which watery or calcareous depositions, an ! all unnatural enlargements are reduced. It imparts tone and vitality to the whole system, removing nick and morbid headaches, giddiness, w ardering pains and nervous affections. In fact, in every case where the medicine has been taken for some lime, no matter for wii . t pur pose, the general health of the patient has always been improved by it. In conclusion, the proprietor would say that some of tha most astonishing cases of skin diseases, can cer, bronchocele, and scrofula, have been cured by this medicine, that have ever been recorded; but xvanlof room in this sheet precludes their publica tion at this time. CANCER. An interesting case cured bp Jayne's Alterative. In the spring of 1331, a cancerous tumor appear ed iu the right breast of Mrs. Phoebe, wife of Peter Stretch, of Salem, N. J. It was examined by many Physicians, and was considered by all as cancerous, and besides bore ail the characteristic marks of one. All probable means of removing it w ere used without the slightest benefit. It continued 10 in crease both in size and paiufulncss, until all hope of saving her life, but by a painful operation, was abandoned, which, after a consultation o! eminent Physicians, was performed, Jan. Ist, 1332, by Dr. John Khea Barton, assisted by Dr. Redman, the proprietor, and two other medical gentlemen. The whole and entire right breast was removed, and af ter examination of the tumor, was piouounced by ail present a cancer of the most malignant charac ter. In about three months, after enduring incredi ble sufferings, she was enabled, though broken in rpi to get about again. Hie remained feeble, ter general health was exceedingly bad, as in deed ha’d been fur sex era! years before, in the spri;:. f 1337, upwards of five years after herhieast had ; e n removed, a painful tumor made its ap pearan m the right side, immediately over the part forr.. .h r occupied by tlie nipple of the right breast, pi \ ions to its removal. r l liis tumor steadi ly increased for several months, and became ?o painful as to deprived her of rest, ihe glands un der the right arm were enlarged; and iVirrhiis, and n hard, irregular, and at times painful tumour, ap peared in the left breast. No operation could now arrest the disease. Indeed her w hole body appear ed to be a mass of disease. Her case was consid ered hopeless. She was of a very scrofulous habit, both her parents having died of I’ulmnuarv con sumption. The experiment was now made with this Alterame. It was at first given in small doses, three times a day, and the doses very gradu ally, but steadily increased daily, as long as she look it, which was about six months, and the skin over and around the tumour was wet night and morning with a strong solution of lodine and Hy driodate Potash. The tumour continued increas ing in size for about six weeks, and was at times very painful, when the pain suddenly ceased alto gether, and the tumourswelled out at the base, and became soft, and then began to diminish, and con tinued gradually decreasing until every vestige of disease was removed. The tumour in her left breast, and those m her right axilla were also dis persed. No cancerous or scrofulous tumours ever appeared afterwards; and her general health, which bad been so bad fur fourteen years as to make life a burthen, was effectually and permanently restored. The proprietor is in possession of the diseased breast, and those who choose may examine it. He would also say that he could mention over a dozen /-ases equally interesting, wherein his Alterative has subdued cancer and cancerous tumours, but he lias not room hereto record them. Mrs. Sarah Young, of Quinton’s Bridge,N. J., had a goitrous tumour on the left side of her w ind pipe,a> large as the half of an orange, which was cured by using this Alterative fur about four months. Nlljls R S , South Fourth-street, Phila delphia, was also cured o( an enlargement of the throat, which filled the entire spaee between the chin and breast-bone, and extended around on each side of her neck to behind her ears, and from her ears to her shoulders, and produced awful de formity. It commenced growing when she was but five years old. and continued gradually to ir< ■crease until she was nineteen, at which time she commenced using this Alterative, which she took for seven months, which entirely reduced the en largement; and she has now as smooth and pretty a neck as can be found. The proprietor is not at liberty to give her name in print, but will refer per vious to her. For sale by WM. K. KITCHEN, cep 28 1/ 2 Sole Agent for Georgia. COLLETON BITTERS* j Oi£ DYSPEPTICS. FONJIESE I> 11 rF R S are purely a vegetable -M. compound, and are offered to the pub lic from a principle of benevolence, under the full est conviction lhat they will he found a safe and sovereign remedy lor Dyspepsia. 'They have been triumphantly tested not only hy some of the most respectable families in the State, who have furnish ed ample testimony as to their decided excellence, but also hv the proprietor, who, for ten years, suf lered ail the gloom incident to that distressing dis ease. 'They possess the peculiar excellence denied to most other Bitters, of not proving injurious by continued use. 'They contain not a single delete rious ingredient, and. as, seen from the, directions w Idea accompany each bottle, may be given with entire safety to an infant iu the month If the Colleton is taken regularly and perseVer ingly,(which is highly important in stubborn cases.) they will, soon alter the use of a few bottles, be found to act on the system like a charm—imparting vigor to the stomach, bracing the nerves, cleans ing the liver, promoting digestion, increasing the appetite, strengthening the chest and voice, reliev ing pains, cramps, and stitches in the breast. They are also mostexcelleni for cholera morbus, habitual constipation, sea-sick ness, nausea, proceeding from whatever cause. In cases of general debility, ii has proved one of the best remedies, and is there fore highly recommended to elderly people, literary gentlemen, students, and others of sedentary habits. Taken in small doses frequently through the day, they have checked the most violent diarrhoea, aiid likewise- been administered wish the ixappies I effect j n cholera infantum. In all the foregoing complaints, these Bitters will he loumLeffectual if persisted in, and taken accord ing to the directions w hich accompany each bottle. And although it has been testified hy several that they are excellent in many others, yet in none other than those above enumerated, is the proprietor will ing to vouch for their efficacy. They were prima rily and solely intended to cure Dyspepsia. The Colleton Bitters have been eight years be fore the public; and in consequence of the increas ing demand f »r I his valuable medicine, the proprie tor Ins entered largely into the business—bottles are [trueured having “Colleton Bitters" moulded in them— they are also numbered, sealed and stamp ed with au appropriate motto Price ft I per bottle. Several ofiny -personal friends and acquaintances. long afflicted with Dyspepsia, have assured me thatibey have found these Bitters better than any other medicine they ever tried, for that distressing disease. And I take the pleasure further to state that 1 have wit nessed th'* excellency of these- Bitters, in nansia, sick-headache, and bowel complaint; in this last particular, 1 have seen the Colleton repeatedly and successfully tested among the children of my own house-hold. No family ought to be without this in valuable medicine. REV. A. WOODWARD, Pastor of St. Lukes Church, S. C. april2'J 133 DR. CHRISTIE’S GALVANIC RINGS AND -MAGNETIC FLUID. FT*Xft IS remarkable invention, w hit h lias received the S- almost universal approbation of the medical pro fession of Great Britain, comprises an entirely new ap p lieation of Galvanism, as a remedial agent, by means of which the ordinary Galvanic Ba teries, Electric and Mng n tic Machines. <fc c., are entire I v dispensed with, and the mysterious powers of Galvanism applied without any of the objections which are insuperable from the gene ral mode now in use. The strong doses, and at irregu lar intervals, in which Galvanism is applied by the Ma chines, has been pronounced, as or a lair and impartial trial, tobe decidedly injurious, aod it was to remedy this radical defect, that this new application was pro jected, which after unceasing tod and perseverance, has been brought to its present state of perlection. The Galvanic Rings answer ail the purposes of the most expensive M icliines, and in many other respects are more safk and certain iu accomplishing tiie desired effect. The Galvanic Rings, used in connection with the Magnetic Fluid, a.e confidently.recommended in all D BORDERS WHICH ARISE FROM AN ENFEEBLED OR UN heathy state of THE NERVOUS OR VITAL SYSTEM,and these complaints are among the most painful aud uni versal to which we are subject. They arise, w ithaut ex ception, from one simple cause—-a derangement of the Nervous system—audit was in these cases lhat other “ remedies” havn g so often failed, a new agent was greatly needed, which it is confidently believed, has been found iu the proper and judicious application of Galvanism. The Galvanic Rings have been used with entircsuc cess in all cases of Rheumatism, acute or chronic, ap plying to the head, face or limbs = Gout, Tic-Doloreux Toothache. Bronchitis, Vertigo, Nervous or 3ick Headache, lndigestion, Paralyses. Palsy, Epilei’sv, Fits, Cramp, Palpitation of the Heart, Appoflexy, Stiffness . f Joints. Spinal Complaints, Lumbago, Neuralgia. Nervous Tremors, Dizziness of the liead. Pains in the Chest anuSidk. General Debili ty, Deficiency of Nervous and Physical Energy, and alt. Nervous Disorders. In cases of confirmed Dyspepsia..which is simply' a nervous derangement of the digestive organs, they have been found equally- suc cessful. Their extraordinary effects upon the system must be witnessed to be believed, and as a certain pre ventive for the preceding complaints they are equal ly recommended. The Rings are of different prices, being m oleos all Mz°s,aiid of various ornamental pat terns, aid can tie w orn by the most delicate female without the slightest inconvenience. In fact the sensation is rather agreeable than otharwise. The Galvanic Ucits, bracelets, G sit ters, Necklaces, &c. In some cases of a very sev ere character and of long standing, the power as applied by tlie Galvanic Kings is not suifieinnt to arrest the progress of disease and ulti mately to restore health. The improved modification in the Galvan c Belts, Bracelets. <&c., entirely reme dies t iis object ion : any deg rec of power that is required can readily’ be obtained, and no complaint which the mysterious agent of Galvanism can ellect « ill tad to lie permanently relieved. Tin m articles are ad;q ted to the waist, amis, w ri.-ts, limbs, am irs or any part of ihc body with perfect convenience. lae Galvanic Necklaces are used with greater benefit in cases of Bronchitis < r affections of the throat generally ; also in eases of Ner vous Deafness; and with almost uniform success as a preventive for Apoplexy, Epileptic Fits, and similar complaints. Christie’s Magnetic Fluid. Isissued in connection with the Galvanic Rings.and all their mollifications. This composition has been pro nounced bv the French Chemists to be one of the most extraordinary discoveries of modern science. It is be lieved to pos7 ss a remarkable power of RENDER Ino THE Nerves seusitive to Galvahic actioii, hy these means causing a eircillation of the influence at tiie scat ol dis ei- e, and thus giving rapid and permanent rebel'. No Other composition iu chemistry is known In produce tiie same effect or to impart a similar property to the non mis syi-tem by means of an outward local application. The Magiietu Fluid contains nothing capa: le of the slight est injury, ii-s application is agreeable, and it is harmless in it--action as it is beneficial in its result. Full explana tions find directions accompany it. The combined in ventions are in every way perfectly harmless; tli\v are at prices within reach of all, and the discoverer only re quests a fair trial, as a Test of their surprising efficacy sad permanent benefit. Christie's Galvanic Strengthening Flas teis. These articles form another valuable application of Ithe mysterious influence of Galvanism. They are an important adjunct to the genuine Galvahic Rincsand their modifications, acting upon the same principle, but : having this advantage of more local application. They j arc confidently recommended as a valuable addition in : the speedy cure of Rheumatism, acute or chronic ; in i all nervous complaints, and as a positive remedy-in cases of Pain and Weakness i the Chest or Back, Pain in the Side,in Asthma ic A flections, and in Weakness or Op i presston of the Pulmonary Organs. In Spinal Com i plaints; their effects are of the most decided character, and they have often been used with • omnlct" success. Thev are of the greatest advantage in Pains and Weakness of the Breast, end are highly recommended for many of those complaints to which females are especially liable. As an effectual means for Mrengthen ing tiie system when debilitated with disease or other causes; asacettain aid in Constitutional Wealrn-ss. as a Preventive for Colds and in ail affections of the Chest generally the Galvanic Strengt oning Plaster will be found of groalaad permanentadvautage. In a few words, it embraces all the virtues of the best tonic preparation with tile important addition of tile Galvanic influence, which is neitherimpaired or exhausted, whiJeihe action continues. These articles will be found entirely free from those objections which arc a consta tsourceof com plaint with the ordinary Plasters in common use. Jj-The great celebrity and success of these articles, have caused them lobe counterfeited by unprincipled persons. To provide against imposition.
